No more spy shots. GM has formally unveiled the Vauxhall Insignia VXR Sports Tourer (a.k.a. the Opel Insignia OPC Sports Tourer on the other side of the Chunnel). By now, you're probably seen the specs, but we'll go over them again for the sake of being complete. 325 horses are corralled in the 2.8-liter turbo V6 underhood. Yep, that's a six-speed stick you see in the attached photo gallery, and both all-wheel drive and eLSD are standard. Stopping power is supplied by Brembo, the seats are by Recaro, and the overall appearance is liberally sprinkled with awesome. All told, the whole package is good for a zero-to-60 run in six seconds flat, which has us dreaming of this car, in this color, wearing the Buick Tri-Shield up front. Maybe Grand National badges on the fenders, too. Okay, it's more like a pipe dream, but let us have our fun. The PR joins an official video after the jump.

I don't get the chrome teardrop grille things on the OPC/VXR Insignia. They don't make much sense, visually.

That is one slick wagon..would make a nice Buick Regal SportWagon...not a crossover, or sports activity lifestyle utility vehicle, or but a WAGON.

I agree. They sort of ruin a very nice design. Sometimes adding an awkward design element just for the sake of visual "interest" is not the best thing.

They harken back to the concept ...

The hp rating is quite similar to the Northstar V8; I wonder where this engine could go with a second turbo and direct injection...

I like it on some models, where they look almost like fangs or something. They're softer on this, and don't look as good, but I think I still like them somewhat.

... where they looked just as awkward and bizarre (IMHO).

I'm a big fan of Opel's recent design direction, but this particular design element is simply not one of their best ideas.

325HP out of 2.8 Liters is almost mind-boggling. I hope this wagon makes it our way, especially since the G8 Wagon didn't get here.

We disagree, but we always seem too. As for me I love them, they look like Saber Tooth Tiger fangs, and no I don't want to go to your website and read about it ...
