Jalopnik: 2011 Chevy Camaro Convertible Gets Launch Date [Chevy Camaro]

2011_Camaro_Convertible.jpgThe 2011 Chevy Convertible is still coming, albeit not until the first quarter of 2011. For the next two years you'll just have to imagine your mullet flapping in the wind.

The Camaro Convertible has never been fully threatened with extinction, like the Camaro Z28, but the particulars about the production time line have been a bit vague. Sadly, for fans, the Camaro Convertible's model year and calendar year will be one and the same. [Automotive News (subs req) via Edmunds Straightline]

YES :metal: Better late than never.

I still believe we will eventually see a limited run on a Z24 :P

Don't you mean 'Z28"??? :scratchchin:(Z24 = Cavalier!)

Well, if they put the Solstice GXP engine in, they could have a Z24.. 260hp 2.0L turbo..

Wow...way to perpetuate no-longer-accurate stereotypes.

OOPS my bad, yup Z28, course having the GXP engine in it might not be a bad Idea and calling it the Z24 :P as someone else already stated. :D

I think I have to ban you. You not only hurt the feelings of the Pontiac fans but also feelings of van fans. :P

I would totally drive that.

I think its cool, too. But the Pep Boys cheapo hubcaps have to go.

When I was trying to get my van through NJ inspection recently, the car in front of me was a "rare" 1989-ish Mercury Sable Wagon convertible, by Sawzall. They were getting their annual "Collectible" registration mileage check. He got a new sticker... due to a few misfires, I did not.

That Trans Sport ragtop is wicked! In regards to the Camaro convertible, I am glad to see what's left of GM showing a tiny pulse yet.

I remember trying to fight my way through the crowd to get a few shots of the convertible concept at Carlisle's All GM Nationals.

So beautiful.

Someone must have seen the Top Gear episode where they made an Espace ragtop and were inspired... a minivan convertible. What next?
