Jalopnik: Why Don't Corvette Engine Covers Get Cool Engine Output Graphs? [Engine Pr0n]

9 posts in this topic

504x_LS2_CSV_Engine.jpgSo how come Corvettes don't come with a cool engine output graph on the engine cover like the HSV/CSV CR8's LS2 engine? See it up-close below.

504x_CSV_LS2_Engine_Cover_Close.jpgHow hard would it be for Chevy to do something similar on the engine cover of the Corvette, Corvette Z06 and ZR1? I mean, come on, how friggin' cool does that look? Right?

Possibly would cost GM no more than $10.

No pride is the best way to put it.

Because it would take a committee 6 months to choose a color for the text, another 2 months to choose a background color, a few weeks to decide on a font, then there would be a few months for the legal team to come up with some small print to put at the bottom of the sticker, followed by supplier issues (maybe Staples doesn't have that much sticker paper) and by then it would be about time to start working on the next Corvette anyway.

Even worse, after Lutz announces the sticker, Fritz could remind us that stickers cost 15 cents and the Bob works for him meaning there is just no room in the marketplace for Corvettes with stickers under the hood.

It's funny (and sad) because it's true!
