First of all this is not the Statesman, it's an HSV Grange.

And no, starting with another car is not an option - this is the base I want to see with Caddy cues.

Beats the $h! out of any EP2.

Not a single thing about this car has anything that resembles A&S and that's why I wouldn't use it as a base. The greenhouse is wrong, the sides are wrong, it's all soft and rounded edges. It's a handsome car, and would do well as a Buick flagship, but it's not the body you would use as base for a Cadillac.

To make it work as an A&S car you'd have to use another Cadillac and graft the bits onto this, which at that point you'd only have teh RWD proportions, which the CTS, STS, SLS have already, so why bother starting with the Holden.

Agreed on the shape of the greenhouse(at least at the rear), but not the rest - this is not a "rounded" car at all.

Think beyond the standard A&S, it's getting tired anyway.

Cadillac has decades of styling cues to draw upon.

A sketch would be easier, but again, how much of the Holden would be left after you were done turning it into a Cadillac? Plus if you were sketching, might as well start fresh...since you are anyway.

Well yeah, I mean that's really all you could use. If I were to do a chop I would use a Cadillac and give it the Zeta proportions. (Not trying to give you a hard time or anything YJ :P)

Part of the reason I wanted the Holden as a base was to avoid anything like the current big Caddys.

No DTS cues, no STS cues...

I actually don't like them much.

But then it wouldn't be a Cadillac. It would be a Holden with a Cadillac badge. To make it look like it belongs in the lineup, it should have A&S in it. You can push the design philosophy very far, much further than has been done so far, yet it will still look like a Cadillac. If you ditch the A&S you loose the creases for softer edges, the vertical tail lights, the vertical headlights, the signature greenhouse, and what you're left with is well, a Holden that looks like it could be the next Impala or a Buick.
