Regarding the other article and the question "would you buy the Mazda2 or the Fiesta", I gotta say - both look good, but I think the Fiesta looks better.

I like this better than the Fiesta, I think. And a 3-door could be a new version of the GLC, which was known as a fun car to toss around.

After sitting in both, the Fiesta feels better and looks more expensive.

The Mazda2 is kinda cuter, and more honest in its style.

Shoot, I've just seen photos of a facelifted Mazda2, and it has the toothless, black, off-putting scary smiley face of every other Mazda product. Scratch this one off my list. I cannot stand this new Mazda face.

How many segments have really ever completely died off?

Sure, sales can come and go, but segments almost never die.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, more people live in cities than rural areas, and cities are crowded. Some people will naturally gravitate towards cars like the 2 and Fiesta (hopefully more towards the Fiesta, cause its awesome) and others will reluctantly go to smaller cars when they get tired of trying to maneuver their SUVs in urban areas.
