My Silverado on Craigslist

3 posts in this topic

Always thought your Silverado was an extended cab for some reason. Just out of curiousity, with the diesel, what kind of fuel economy did you get, and how did towing slow down your fuel economy?

I used to have a 2001 extd. cab 2500HD with the 6.0 .

I loved that truck too, but it was a serious pig on fuel.

My fuel consumption varies wildly depending on how I am using the truck. Hauling, towing, highway cruising, 4WD or 2WD, plowing, running local but empty, and so on.

What really matters though, is that it is worlds better under all conditions than the 6.0 could ever hope to be on fuel - and more capable to boot.

Hands down the best truck I've ever owned.
