Guess what? Puxatony Phil saw his shadow and Sony announced another delay for Gran Turismo 5 in the same week. Oh, the irony. In an interview with Spanish site Canarias Al Dia, CEO of Sony Entertainment Portugal James Armstrong reportedly revealed another disappointing delay for the highly anticipating driving simulation game. Armstrong allegedly said Sony is aiming to have GT5 on store shelves before Christmas, and that the "priority is to make this game with the best quality as possible." Does this mean that Sony and Polyphony Digital are struggling to work out bugs before the all-too-important game is unleashed on the consumer? It sure sounds that way.

If you're at all like us, you're wondering by now whether GT5 will ever see the light of day. The highly hyped, multi-format racing game was supposed to be released in the fall of 2009, then in March of 2010. Now we're talking sometime before December. Note to Sony and Polyphony Digital: Don't publish truck loads of teasers, videos and screen shots more than a year in advance of the big kid console version of the game finds its way onto store shelves. It's just mean.

During the mean time the inferior XBOX 360 Forza 3 will have another update Forza 4, which will still be inferior to GT5, and yet be a sales hit. And GT5 will have a yet another delay and 6 more teasers till 2012.

Eh, whatever. As a SimCity fan, a delay of 1 year is nothing. They couldn't even release a proper SimCity 5 after six years, instead giving us some dumbed-down SimCity Societies garbage.

And as a Duke Nukem 3D fan, the earth will have been swallowed up in raging nuclear holocaust before DN: Forever hits store shelves.

i will praise the vaporware, for the likes i have not seen yet. LOL

and supposedly nintendo might have some platform news come mid march... and what of project natal? or NG xbox

sony will need another shrink of the ps3 to lower cost and make it more appealing then their quite entertaining commercials have shown it to be, or move on to ps4, the next gen console war will be among us in the next year, or 2.

NG consoles (Wii II, Xbox 720, PS4) are expected around the 2011-2012 timeframe. Natal should officially be for sale sometime this year.

Here's some concept art, just because.

Xbox 720:

Xbox 720 HH (Just because one is very feasible and the other looks cool):

Playstation 4:

I didn't find any CGI mock-ups for the Wii.

Now I do wonder what Microsoft will do to address the fact we are now seeing more and more 2-disc games (Mass Effect 2 is 2 discs). Some people are wondering if Microsoft will use Blu-Ray discs, which I highly doubt. The only format that Microsoft had that could compare to Blu-Ray discs were, of course, HD DVDs which are now a dead format. But even still the storage space on a Blu-Ray disc is still quite massive versus a HD DVD.

Forza 3 is two disks as well.

The second disc isn't for actual gameplay. It's additional content they couldn't fit on one DVD. You have to have both discs in order to play Mass Effect 2. I'd also say BioShock 2 will be two discs upon its debut.

YJ, the concept art for some of that stuff is quite cool.

The most amazing thing is that the DualShock continues to soldier on. But then if it ain't broke...

but but but... OMG it has a cord!!!! ;)

the others make me think boomerang.. wasn't that what the ps3 controllers were called?.. or was it the ones that had the motion sensor in them?

You're thinking of Sixaxxis controllers, which are actually quite cool. Virtually useless in most games, but cool.

Originally, though, they looked liked Boomerangs, yes. People bitched about it and Sony went back to the familiar, classic Sony controller shape before the console went on sale. Also, when people were busy bitching about the shape of the new Boomerang controllers, they were bitching about Sony going to a matte silver paint color for the PS3. I remember someone on some other forum ages ago saying that "it looks like a fridge." So while they were busy stuffing the Sixaxxis guts into PS2 controllers, they changed the color to piano black.

Man! It must be totally awesome to own a PS3! What with the eight CPU cores and all! It's like a supercomputer for your living room!! Now if only you could play some decent games on it!!!

The biggest issue was (and still is in many cases) "lazy" developers not wanting to learn a new platform. It took some time, but a few developers have come out of the woodwork who have been able to really tap into some of the ps3's potential, and the outcome equals some pretty amazing games.

I could honestly care less about GT5, though the wait for it has been ridiculous. For what it is worth, while both systems have their advantages, I find the PS3 has better titles (and of course, bluray capability is awesome). There aren't many titles that pique my interest on the 360, other than gears of war, halo 3 (because I enjoyed the first two), mass effect, forza (preferred it over GT4 back in the day) and maybe alan wake.

  • Chevy Estimated Range for Silverado EV Work Truck Raised to 450 miles

When Chevrolet initially took the wraps off the Silverado EV last year, GM had estimated up to a 400 mile range based on its own calculations.  As the Silverado EV has made its way through development, it went for EPA certification and came back with 50 miles more than GM's estimate.  With this new EPA certification, the Silverado EV has an over 100-mile advantage over its only on-sale competitor the F-150 Lightning Extended Range (320 miles). All New 2024 Toyota Tacoma Yearns For Adventure

The Toyota Tacoma has been the best-selling mid-size pickup in the U.S. for nearly 20 years. Holding such an important place in the lineup, Toyota has been very conservative with updates in the past.  The outgoing generation ran for a full 7 years, but even that was based on a platform that dates all the way back to 2004.  For 2024, the Tacoma sheds the old platform entirely and joins the Tundra and Sequoia on Toyota's new TNGA-F global truck platform.  The 2024 Tacoma is the latest (and final)

The Ford Ranger Raptor Finally Comes to the US

After years of being forbidden fruit offered only in overseas markets, Ford has finally deemed the Ranger Raptor worthy enough to bring to the U.S. The biggest reason for the U.S. not getting the prior version was its standard diesel power and the inability of the platform to take a sizable V6 engine. When Ford redesigned the 2024 Ranger (read more about the 2024 Ford Ranger here), they made sure to alter the engine bay and chassis to accommodate a V6. Powering the Ranger Raptor is a 3.0-li
