Geneva Preview: Citroen teases DS4 crossover concept

Citroen has released the teaser image you see above, previewing the new DS4 crossover concept expected to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The silhouette shows a high-riding GT-type body style, similar to such past Citroen show cars as the 2005 C-Sportlounge and the 2008 Hypnos. Although the break in the side glass seems to show a three-door layout, we could be looking at a pair of suicide doors 'round back. And this being a show car, anything can happen along the road from concept to production. While the DS4 is expected to borrow its underpinnings from the C4 (like the DS3 does from the C3), the body style ought to further distance the premium crossover from the mass-market hatchback.

This will be the second vehicle in the DS line from Citroen, following the DS3. When it debuts in Geneva, it is expected to be accompanied by the DS3-R (or DS3 Racing) hot hatch, while a DS2 based on the unfortunate Revolte concept is also tipped to be in the works.

There is but it's a bit of an ugly pig...

I do not consider that a design. It is a mishmash drawn by a third grader.

I also think this Citroen looks great, but does anyone else think that hatches of this size are starting to look the same? The Astra, Focus, and this all seem to have very very similar styling cues.

The 1st DS concept translated into the DS3 production model with virtually no changes, so I'm wondering if the DS4 might end up being sort of a premium Nissan Qashqai-like vehicle... Just hope they keep it as a 3-door :)
