Saturn owners get $2,000 incentive to stick with GM

Recommended Posts

He was saying Civic Si sedan earlier... the car that hasn't exactly set the world on fire, even among Honda enthusiasts, let alone the buying public at large. Peaky engine, no torque. Ask jlgolden, he didn't keep his long, he's got a GTI now.

Granted, it is a fun drive.

I like the Civic, it's a car I'd consider in a heartbeat....

Well, before you pass judgment, let's see what the area under the curve looks like. There was a lot of gnashing of teeth when Ford said they were going to put the 3.5 Ecoboost into the F-150, but with 350ft/lbs of torque available at 1,500 rpm, that truck is going to have a lot of snort. That's what DI and Turbo really buy you.

Not according to GM.

And keep in mind that you'll be going from a 4-speed auto to a 6-speed auto...... unless you're going to buy a manual.

I like fast....

My daughter 2008 Saturn Aura XE seem to be a black sheep, trying to sell it has been impossible and the GM Dealers don't want to give even wholesale for it. You expect my daughter to buy any GM car again. ?????? GM should sent out another letter offering at least $5000.00 to buy GM again. Happy Holidays.

Where else have you been advertising it?

This site and a few others. Craigslist in Buffalo,NY, Syracuse,NY , home here in Rochester, NY and in the hometown Craiglist of the Northern, VA while my daughter was there .We've have had only 1 real person ask us about the car here in Rochester....that is it..... just one. Un believeable. The car is clean,no accidents, dealer maintained and one woman owner, smoke free, still has the 5 year 100 thousand mile factory warranty. etc. Nobody wants a Saturn, that's what I have been told by the dealer.

Sold today. Young girl got herself a perfect nice Saturn Aura. They are "were" great GM cars. If your dealer is straight with you........he'll tell you nobody wants a Saturn. It's not a load or BS story. It's a fact, I don't like it. That's the cold hard truth. Took three months to sell this car. Only two people came to our house to look at it. Two young girls with their Dad's. Thanks for listening.

It's interesting to hear your experience. I sold my 2007 Saturn Aura XR about 1.5 years ago without much problem. Then, we sold our 2008 Saturn VUE XR for $600 over dealer trade on a local message board in about 18 hours about 6 months ago. Apparently it is very market dependent. Here in the Detroit area, dealers actually seek out Saturns to take on trade and they keep them on their lot instead of auctioning them. There is one dealer that probably has 20 Auras and 20 VUEs in their inventory at any given time.

S-Series in decent shape have no trouble selling anywhere I've seen. I can understand the reluctance to spend a lot on the later model Saturns - they sold in MUCH smaller numbers, and with the attitude other GM dealerships have had toward Saturn, I wouldn't be surprised to hear horror stories about people trying to get proper service, especially warranty service. Probably more the exception than the rule, but that's the exact fear that's going to drive prices down. Most of those issues don't affect the S-Series. It's out of warranty, it's super easy to do DIY work for a lot of things, and isn't going to be an issue to take to any competent mechanic. And since they sold around 2.5 million S-Series over the years, and they mostly use the same parts, there are plenty of parts out there in the form of donor cars and aftermarket supply, on top of ongoing parts supply for major mechanical stuff from GM.

It's not going to be a Saab. LOL. She doesn't need a car at this time. She is buy working for the government and when traveling, she rents a car. At home in Va she uses the Metro going to and from work. If she really needs a car she uses her boyfriends Ford Escape. Being a retired GM employee, I know she will Buy American when ready. I don't even want to think about Saab owners trying to sell their cars & trucks. I wish them well.

All the dealers around here have Saturn Aura's on their lots all priced from 12,995 to 15,995. Plus I was watching Ebay and it seems that all the Aura's on Ebay never made the reserve price and alot of no sales. I was checking Ebay every few days or so and it listed Saturn Aura's as 0 sales. Too bad.....great car.

As long as I can still fix the newer saabs ( I think they still used a decent amount of GM parts), still still buy one....

I was trying to poke the wife into a nice 9-7x a few weeks ago....

Granted even ebay is not selling cars like they used to....the good deals dried up...

Not for me

How much in incentive $$$ is Honda throwing your way to get you to purchase from them?? Or are they so perfect that you don't need any incentives to buy their perfect product??

UPDATE: Nope still have not found a reason to buy a new car from anyone with or without a 2k bribe to get rid of my 2.4L ION or Solstice.

  • The Jeep Gladitator gets a gentle refresh for 2024

Jeep is understandably reluctant to mess with success, and the Jeep Gladiator has been one of the brand's greatest success stories in the last decade.  So when it came time to give the Gladiator a nip-tuck, Jeep went in with the gentlest of hands. GMC Upsizes the Acadia for 2024; New 2.5L Turbo-4

GMC caused a stir in 2016 when it downsized the Acadia in 2017 from its previous near-Yukon length. That downsize brought the Acadia down to be inline in size with the contemporary Jeep Grand Cherokee.  In the years since, the Grand Cherokee has grown and GMC is matching that with the 2024 GMC Acadia. Inches matter in this class and in that the Acadia gains (back) 10.6 inches in length and 3.2 inches in height. That equates to 80% more space behind the third row and 36% more space behind th

Today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Cadillac unveiled the refreshed Cadillac CT5 sedan.  CT5 retail sales have been on an upswing of late, increasing over 35%.  In a time when sedan sales are stagnating or disappearing entirely, Cadillac's positive numbers have given hope that the luxury sedan market isn't quite dead yet. The refresh of the CT5 begins with the exterior. A new larger, bolder grille is flanked by new vertically stacked headlamps and Cadillac's sign
