Opel restructuring decision to take time, report says

FRANKFURT (Reuters) -- A decision on the restructuring plan for General Motors Co.'s Opel unit will take some time, CEO Nick Reilly said, according to German paper Welt am Sonntag.

Reilly said GM will need some time to convince all parties involved that its plan is the right one, the newspaper reported in the pre-released version of an article to be published on Sunday.

Ultimately GM will receive support for the restructuring of Opel, Reilly said, according to the Welt am Sonntag.

Reilly said plans are to raise sales of Opel cars by 500,000 to 1.7 million cars by 2015, according to the paper.
