Chrysler is dropping more hints about an upcoming unibody pickup that would be positioned below the Dodge Dakota. You may recall that first word of the new small truck came back in November when Fred Diaz, CEO of Chrysler's newly-created Ram brand, dropped tidbits about the company "considering" a Dakota replacement. We speculated that it could be built on a platform derived from the upcoming Jeep Grand Cherokee/Dodge Durango architecture.

Sure is.

Remember that long thread where all of our cantankerous selves agreed in an unprecedented way? I think Chryco has been reading their C&G. :smilewide:

A truck based on their minivan platform would be awesome. Imagine if it had a Midgate-type system in addition to Stow-N-Go?

I was thinking about a pickup based on the Nitro/Liberty... but that is probably too big and old of a platform at this point.

Wonder if this is back in the cards now that GM is back in the game, Toyota and Nissan are updating theirs and Ford's is probably coming too.

Heck, even the Ridgeline is making a return.  Ram needs something here.
