Chevrolet to offer RS appearance package on Cruze

03/28/2010, 12:01 AMBY ANDREW GANZ

The Chevrolet Cruze is still a few months away from debuting in North America, but that’s not stopping the bowtie brand from announcing a new sporty RS appearance package for its upcoming mainstream sedan.

To be officially unveiled later this week at the New York Auto Show, the Cruze RS package adds in some sporty-looking touches to LT and LTZ trim level Cruzes. Although the package doesn’t include any actual performance upgrades – which we hear are coming eventually – the RS gets unique front and rear fascias, rocker moldings and a rear spoiler, as well as standard front fog lamps.

Chevrolet hasn’t released any interior pictures of the Cruze RS just yet, but the automaker says that chrome accent rings will take over for the standard painted silver trim and opaque bezels will surround the instruments to provide for a unique style with the cluster’s standard ice blue lighting.

The automaker has yet to hint about what kind of price premium the RS group will command over a standard Cruze LT or LTZ, although we’ll be sure to report the figures as soon as they become available.

It needed jazzed up. The one they had here was just Enterpise at best. While it looked better than the Cobalt it just looked cheaper than the other models.

The LTZ wheels and the high mileage wheel so help a lot.

Tires and wheels are like frosting on a cake. The cake may taste good but you have to make it look as good as it taste to get anyone to try it.
