Honda dealers send teams to be nice to non-customers

07:49 AM

Here's an interesting way to try to generate good vibes among motorists to help sell cars.

Try being nice to them, even when they aren't even shopping for a new car.

Honda's Southern California dealers have dispatched teams of workers in baby-blue caps and golf shirts to try to do favors for owners and the community. They call it the Honda Helpful program, and the teams were out in force over the Memorial Day weekend.

Among the tasks performed by the teams are:

Providing assistance at homeless shelters with meals.

Sending tanker trucks to surprise motorists -- especially Honda drivers -- with free gas.

Distributing reusable shopping bags at local farmers markets.

Scheduling umbrella escorts during rainy days.

Visiting hardware stores and supermarkets to carry groceries and supplies for shoppers.

Nice touch.

Hah-haha.... Not a bad idea I guess. I'll take some free gas for my 2 metric tone Mercedes Benz 500SEC. :spin:

I wish Honda would start churning out some RWD products cause its their love of FWD (and often awkward styling) that i dislike the most.
