Toyota wins four Edmunds awards

The Detroit News

Four Toyota Motor Corp. models won in their categories Monday in automotive research site Edmund.com's "True Cost to Own" vehicle awards for 2010.

Toyota's Yaris subcompact took two awards, for coupes under $25,000 and for sedans under $15,000. The Tacoma won in the compact truck category, and the Sienna in the minivan/van segment, the automaker said.

Edmunds determines the "True Cost to Own" of vehicles in 21 categories by calculating ownership costs over five years. Its assessment takes into account projected depreciation, financing, taxes, insurance premiums, fuel costs, maintenance and repairs.
