Chevrolet UK launches Cruze CS aero kit with contrasting wheels - Will it come here?

Well, now – look who got themselves a set of fancy new dancing shoes. Chevrolet Cruze buyers in the UK can now outfit their thrifty little sedans with a trick lowered suspension, rear spoiler and contrasting wheels, straight from the factory. The look helps the car resemble the Silverline Cruze currently bashing around the British Touring Car Championship. We certainly dig on the white 18-inch multi-spoke alloys. They look right at home on the blue car in the high-res gallery shown here, especially given the more aggressive stance served up by the reworked suspension.

General Motors is calling the package the CS styling kit, and those wanting a little extra menace with their Cruze better get ready to shell out £1,595, or $2,410 at current exchange rates. As the Cruze starts at around $15,500, that's a not insignificant amount of dosh, but it also adds a good amount of presence to the visuals and hopefully improves handling.

Either way, we have a sneaking suspicion that we're not likely to see the CS package on our shores. Most Americans have no clue what the BTCC is all about, and while the add-ons certainly sharpens the appearance of the Cruze, we're more likely to get a mild body kit and not much else. Hit the jump for the press release.

Now you can look cooler than ever when you're out for a Cruze!

Chevrolet has pulled the wraps off a race-inspired option pack to further bring out the dynamic styling and handling of the Cruze saloon – the car favoured by the Silverline Chevrolet team in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The 'CS' styling kit consists of smart 18-inch white multi-spoke alloy wheels, lowered suspension, a boot spoiler, unique CS graphics and matching tailored carpet mats.

That's in addition to the standard Cruze specification, which includes such features as follow-me-home lighting, remote central locking, a CD-radio system with auxiliary input, premium soft-touch interior plastics and electric windows on even the entry-level model.

The CS Kit is available on all trim and engine variants of the Cruze at the time of order, and costs £1,595, including VAT and fully fitted, at participating Chevrolet retailers from mid-July onwards.

What the Cruze needs is not an aero kit. What it needs is the 2.0 liter LNF engine from the Cobalt SS.

I think we will see it or some kind of 2.0 Turbo in the Future. As of now as few Cobalt SS as they have sold it is not a priority. Besides they need a coupe first the Cobalt SS sedan was a real bust volume wise.

I love 2.0 T engine as I own one as a daily driver and would love to see it in this car but lets get the everyday models selling like they should in the 10's of thousands and then worry about the 4,000 SS they would sell a year.

I really like them... and I rarely like that type of wheel.

I'm hoping in time we'll see a coupe with the 2.0L turbo setup like we did in the Cobalt.  That was a definite small car win.
