BMW unveils M Sport Package for 5-Series

By Drew Johnson

After an earlier internet leak, BMW has officially announced its M Sport Package for the new 5-Series sedan and wagon. The new M Sport Package will join the 5-Series option list this September.

The M Sport Package gives the 5-Series a decidedly aggressive look, featuring a revised front fascia, complete with larger lower intake ducts which also contain the fog lights. In addition to the significantly more aggressive front fascia, the side skirts and rear fascia have also been upgraded to match. These changes alone make for an instantly noticeable change in the vehicle’s overall presence.

In addition to the new body kit, the M Sport Package also includes two sets of wheels — a standard set of 18-inch rollers and an optional 19-inch setup.

Wrapping up the list of changes found in the M Sport package are sports seats wrapped in a uniquely sporty trim, a three-spoke steering wheel, an anthracite headliner, new knobs for both the automatic and manual transmissions and modified trim pieces for the dash and door panels.

A sports suspension is also part of the package, as is a new rear spoiler for sedan models.

BMW has yet to announce U.S. pricing, but in the UK the 535i M Sport sedan will list from £40,525, with the 550i M Sport jumping to £53,615.
