Corvette To Hold Engine Build Experience Webchat Tomorrow

Nelson Ireson July 28th, 2010

If you're perplexed as to why anyone would pay $5,800 to build their own already-paid-for engine in a new 2011 Corvette ZR1 or Z06, you're not alone. Hopefully tomorrow's webchat with Corvette engine builder John Ross, Performance Build Center manager Carl Pickerman and Corvette marketing manager John Fitzpatrick over at Corvette Action Center will help explain why you'd dole out the nearly-six-grand price of entry.

On the other hand, the chance to get your name on the engine block alongside the Corvette engine builder that helps you through the process, not to mention the knowledge that you actually helped bring the 505-horsepower LS7 or 638-horsepower LS9 to life may be enough to justify the expense. That would make the factory tour, watching the car travel down the assembly line, the driving school, and delivery at the National Corvette Museum included in the fee icing on the cake.

Check out our previous coverage for more on the Corvette Engine Build Experience, and hit the link below by 12 noon Eastern time tomorrow to join in the chat.
