2010 Los Angeles Auto Show Promises 20+ World Debuts

Marty Padgett July 29th, 2010

We're still months away from the 2010 Los Angeles auto show, but organizers are teasing us--and you--this morning with a tightly worded release promising more than 20 world debuts of new vehicles at the fall show.

With the addition of another 20 North American debuts, many from global manufacturers, the L.A. show organizers say the show is becoming more important to the auto industry and to car fans around the globe.

On the list of introductions so far?

2011 Fiat 500: It's already on sale elsewhere, but this version's built in Mexico for North American shoppers. Convertible and electric versions are in the cards, too.

2011 Nissan Quest: A new version of the company's front-drive minivan, that's moved from domestic production to an assembly line in Japan.

2011 Nissan Leaf: the electric car that wants to overturn the existing world order will be displayed at L.A. as its first owners are ready to take delivery.

2011 Chevrolet Volt: GM's range-extended electric car shows up on yet another auto-show stand, only this time, it's also ready for deliveries to a select few early adopters.

2011 Hyundai Elantra: The new compact sedan from Hyundai bears styling like the larger Sonata, and a 40-mpg fuel economy rating.

The 2010 L.A. Auto Show opens to the media on November 17, and to the public on November 19, running through November 28. For more details, you can visit the Los Angeles Auto Show's official Web site or follow them on Twitter @LAAutoShow.

I'm glad they moved the show around Thanksgiving, now I can use the holiday as an excuse to go to LA and the car show!

I think both shows will be big this year.

GM: ATS, Bu, Aveo, Camaro Vert, Z28, Buick mini. May be if PCS gets crazy some Zeta Chevy/Buick.

Chrysler: Fiat Mini, Alpha, 300c-Charger.

Ford: Lincoln small car, Ford Fusion replacement concept/ Mondeo, Escape, Ranger replacement.

Anything more?
