Video: A Detailed Look Inside the 2011 Ford Explorer

By Nelson Ireson

August 2nd, 2010

The 2011 Ford Explorer changes up the formula we've all become familiar with over the past twenty years with a more car-like look and platform, but how different is it on the inside? This video takes you up close for a preview of the new Explorer's cabin, highlighting some of its key features and differences from previous models.

The whole interior, in fact, is brand-new--not a single element carries forward from the previous Explorer. In terms of design, it looks decidedly more modern and car-like. The particular vehicle in the video even looks fairly high-end, with leather seating and steering wheel, attractive metal-look accents.

The video is presented by Michael Arbaugh, the design lead for the new Explorer's interior, who points out the main concepts and ideas behind the individual features inside the Explorer's cabin, including the power-folding third-row seats.

If you have a high-resolution monitor, you'll be able to take advantage of it to get an excellent feel for the new Explorer, with 1080p video available.
