Fisker Automotive has named to its board of directors two new members, who between them hold nearly 80 years of professional experience, with over half of that in the automotive realm.

The first new addition to the board is Dr. Hans-Joachim Schöpf, a man who's automotive career spans 38 years with senior positions across the German auto industry. Schöpf has previously served on the boards of Ballard Power systems, Vancouver, and Valmet Automotive - which happens to be the contract manufacturer responsible for the future manufacturing of the Fisker Karma.

You can add to Schöpf's list of accomplishments serving as executive vice president and member of the Board of Mercedes Car Group with links to Chrysler, Mitsubishi and McLaren. Schöpf was also senior vice president (SVP) of the Mercedes-Benz A-and C-Class; Passenger Cars division, overall advanced development and IPM; and SVP manufacturing for the S-, E- and C-Class.

In terminology more familiar to someone who may not have spent a lifetime in executive roles of the automotive industry, Schöpf helped to develop and implement crucial technologies such as electronic stability control (ESC) and common rail injection for gasoline and diesel engines.

The second addition to the board is Mr. Barry Huff, who has 40 years of experience in international finance. Huff was deeply involved in development of thought leadership for Deloitte LLP for client audit committees and management. While acting as vice chairman from 1995 through 2008, Huff was responsible for some of the largest accounts for the multi-billion dollar firm.

Huff's tie-in to the automotive world can be found with his experience working on auditing with General Motors, as well as acting advisory partner for automotive suppliers such as PPG and ArvinMentor.
