China and other growth markets will help Skoda double annual production, report says

(Bloomberg) -- Skoda plans to double its annual production within 10 years, helped by growth in China and other growth markets, a Czech newspaper reported.

Citing Skoda CEO Winfried Vahland, Hospodarske Noviny said the automaker aims to at least double annual production to 1.5 million cars by 2020.

The company plans to boost its sales in emerging markets such as China, India, Russia and eastern Europe, the newspaper said.

Skoda is the Czech unit of Volkswagen AG.
