2011 HONDA FIT GAINS STABILITY CONTROL, OTHER FEATURES

By Drew Johnson

Although not quite as extensive as its European counterpart (Jazz), Honda has announced a bevy of updates for its 2011 Fit hatchback. Honda has already announced a number of updates for the European and Asian versions of the Fit.

For 2011, the base model Fit gains cruise control, a USB audio interface and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA). The mid-level Fit Sport also gains VSA for 2011, and also adds floor mats as standard.

The Fit Sport with Navigation was already fitted with Honda’s VSA, but the range-topping model gets carpeted floor mats as standard for 2011.

Although the world market Jazz received some styling tweaks for 2011, the U.S.-spec Fit will carry on unchanged. The Fit will also continue to use a 117 horsepower 1.5L four-cylinder, backed by either a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic. The 2011 Fit is rated at 27/33mpg city/highway.
