Actually, it looks pretty mean in that picture. Hopefully on the next major restyle, they'll redo the greenhouse to something more like the 427. I'm liking what I'm seeing, though.

The 3 bar grille and Fusion headlights. It will look better but this is what should have been, minus the bubble greenhouse.

Better, but it will look somewhat dated by then and the new Impala will be out the next year most likely, so the 500 won't have much time on top.

That looks good. It looks to me like it has new Expedition/Escape/Edge headlights. Perhaps they will reskin the car, and the new front end on this mule is for hot weather/cooling system testing.

The interior needs some tweaking... and when is Ford going to change their damn gauges? I have hated them for years!

That actually looks pretty mean in that pic. I think the greenhouse is OK but it would be nice if the rear window had a more angular cutout (ie: Caliber).

They should have given it an Audi A8 profile and greenhouse, not a bloated A6. But other then that, this should look a tad better then what's already out there, not too much, but just enough to maybe win over so more people... lol.

Looks impressive. I remember talking to a Ford engineer when the 500 was going to hit the market. He said "in a few years you will see what the real 500 was to be."

It's impressive and will sell incredibly well. Ford does have a knack to reach consumers especially lately.

i thought there was going to be a rear end treatment. whats the deal?

There is. People just like to bitch about what they can't see and have no way of knowing about...if it isn't a GM. If it is a GM, then it's exactly the opposite.

YES, THE a8 WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TO EMULATE

The new engine and grille will not help Five Hundred sales. The Five Hundred is my favorite FWD large sedan. Had the 2005 Five Hundred been the 1996 Taurus (or even 2000), it would have been a smash success. However, Ford has lost this market to the Japanese and Impala and may never win those buyers back.

I absolutely DESPISE the Ford 500 & Montego. Now after seeing them

in traffic I have really begun to dislike it. I've always been an fan of

the lower-longer-wider phylosophy of designing a big family sedan.

A 1959 Buick is a great example as is almost any full size GM car from

the late 1950s untill the 1996 B-bodys and even the last gen. Park Ave.

The 500 is stubby, chunky, tall, disproportionate & ungainly to my eyes.

(sorry Reg.)

The FWD and Audi-esque greenhouse make it extra unappealig to me.

And for what it's worth this is the exact reason why I dislike the Buick

Lucerne so much. Too fat, tall, short and disproportionate. Esp.

compared to a Park Ave... one of the sexyest sedans made after 1969.

i don't care. i didn't get one for looks. just for cheap space.

but i will say this, i know longer, lower and wider is sexier for cars, but the taller cars are nice and comfortable to sit in as daily drivers.

i think the 08 version of this car they will fix some of the styling issues and of course it better pack some hp.

albeit a small following right now, these cars have a seriously devoted following, because of the large size and command seating, great price and great safety. once the rest of the car is fixed, watch sales explode.

The STS is low slung to the point of it being a b!tch ot get Sofia in

and out of the car seat. The Q while still very long and low lookig

overall, has a much more practical roofline and plenty of interior

space. As much as I dislike the 500 I'd take one in a hearbeat

over a Camry, Accord, Galant o& perhaps even the current Maxima.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH now you know why i got one. i have a 2 year old to get in and out!

the CTS/STS twins are an absolute bitch to get in and out of.

The Galant was really high on my list due to the fact that its got balls and great handling, as much interior room as the 500, and i had greatly reliable mits' before. The galant does score well with CR. but the seats are lower. The Galant Ralliart with 5 spped auto and about 260 hp should do even better. The others I considered were the Nissan twins (max and Alt SE-r) and the GM cars like Imp ss and GXP GP but all those were too much dough to get into.

I like the older Q45's, the first one and the next one.

In the end, like everyone who gets a 500, its more about practicality stuff. And i know its gonna be reliable and very solid.
