I'm about to

Recommended Posts

I hate Pep boys, I'll drive 40 miles out of my way to avoid using them if I have to.

I'm about to attempt to take my eleven year old to our community pool. Lots of twntysomething young mothers there in Bikini's, which tend towards the small side....

Enjoy the Jeep!

The Jeep isn't mine- I'm doing a friend a favor.

It seems that he's in a gambling mood, so we will be installing the bearing and hoping for the best. It is one size up from one that wasn't quite thick enough, and the Jeep is a heap that he wants gone.

So, one shaky repair coming right up!

Might be fine, might be the end for the engine.

Yea, I avoid Pep Boys with a passion, I use Napa. They at least always have the parts or can get them fast and I have yet to meet anyone but smart people there that actually know product rather than just a follow the computer and replace a part mentality.

Bingo..Napa it is!

I think this one's toast.

New, thicker, bearing didn't take out the slop in any noticeable way.

As an aside, I never saw so many bolts on one oil pan!

Sometimes it's not good to throw time and money away on Junk...

Yeah, probably the case here. I'm going to check to see if there is yet a thicker bearing available since the pan is still off. The bearings are cheap so it's worth one last shot,

Otherwise, this Jeep is only good for someone who wants a project.

Oh you mean Never Any Parts Available? (First time I heard that was from one of the old guys who delivers parts for NAPA!) :)

That is too funny,

We should start a thread on popular names and what they really mean!

FORD = Failure on Race Day

MOPAR = Mostly Old Parts and Rust

GM = Generation Midlife

Chevy =

Buick =

GMC =

Pontiac =

Saturn =

Oldsmobile =

Mercury =

Lincoln =

Dodge =

Plymouth =

Etc. we could have so much fun with this. I know there are some not PC versions but they are funny.

Shucks =

O'Rielly's =

PEPBOYS =

Be creative and come up with a blast of new name meanings.

There's still some hope for the Jeep after all. I decoded the part number on the box the bearings came in and, with a few minutes of research, discovered that we still have three more bearing sizes to try.

I'll get all three before I crawl back under the thing.

MOPAR = Mostly Old Parts and Rust

GM = Generation Midlife,

Chevy Chevrolet = Cracked Heads, Every Valve Rattles, Oil Leaks Every Time

Buick =

GMC =

Pontiac = Poor Old Nitwit Thinks It's A Cadillac

Saturn = Slow Ass Tincan, Usually Runs Never

Oldsmobile = Old Ladies Driving Slowly Make Others Behind Infuriatingly Late Everyday

Mercury =

Lincoln =

Dodge = Drips Oil, Drips Grease Everywhere; Dead On Day Guarantee Expires

Plymouth = Please Leave Your Money Out Underneath The Hood

Etc. we could have so much fun with this. I know there are some not PC versions but they are funny.

Camaro = Can A Mechanic Actually Repair One?; Chevrolet-Assembled Mustang Always Requiring Oil

Mustang = Motor Under Strain, Transmission Absolutely No Good; Must Use Supercharger or Turbo Against Normal GMs.

GTO = Gas, Tires, Oil

Volvo = Very Odd Looking Vehicular Object

Acura = Another Crappy, Useless, Rotten Automobile; Asia's Curse Upon Rural America

BMW = Bitch, Moan and Whine, Big Money Waste

Honda = Had One, Never Did Anything

Toyota = This One You Ought To Avoid

Hyundai = Hope You Understand, Nothing's Drivable And Inexpensive

Porsche = Proof Of Rich Spoiled Children Having Everything

One surprisingly apt for this conversation:

Jeep =Just Eats Every Part

Those were about all the ones I could think of. I know one for GMC, but it would likely offend half of the forum's population.
