1980 Pontiac Grand LeMans & Grand Prix Promotional Presentation

Recommended Posts

I always liked the LeMans and Grand Am 2-doors from this era, but it took a lot of years for me to appreciate the small, squared-off body of the '78-'80 Grand Prix after the gorgeous '73-'77 models. I like them now, especially in the higher-class trims.

Owned two 1980 Grand Prix's. One was a white SJ coupe with the W72 170 Hp 301, 2.93 rear gears, buckets, guages, rear sway bar and snow flake alloy wheels. The other was a maroon LJ with 301 145 HP engine, gauges, bench seat, rally Pontiac wheels and power windows. Loved them both and wish I had them today to enjoy. The SJ was a hoot and delivered surprising performance on the open road and loved to go around corners while the LJ loved the open road for long trips.
