Senators have always been my favourite HSV cars.

That car is a little old, btw. Check out www.hsv.com.au for the current Senator.

Despite Holden partially owning HSV, they won't allow HSV to use the Monaro name. All the Monaro based HSV models wear a Coupe badge instead of a Monaro badge.

uhm... isn't that just a 4 door GTO?

They are related and share some components. The Commodore is the base Holden model, and is closest to a 4 door GTO. The Senator/Statesman model is a long wheelbase version of the Commodore, and the Monaro and GTO are 2 door versions of the Commodore.

The one in that video is the VS model (current one is VZ, and the Zeta based VE comes out later this year), which was built 95-97, it was fitted with the old holden 304, the Australian built 'Holden' engine used until the LS1 replaced it in 1999. Hope this helps.
