NINETY EIGHT REGENCY

1983 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Engineering video

I don't remember rear wipers on that generation... were they optional?

Edit: And do you know who I want to tell me about the Camaro engineering? The guy who got beat up by the nerds in chemistry class for being too nerdy, dressed in a 3 piece suit, crooked tie, and dinner plate size glasses.

I don't recall ever seeing any third gen F bodies with a rear wiper, could this possibly have been a pre-production model that had features which were later cut by the start of production. Another possibility was it was a rare option on early 3rd gens.

The GM Accessory louvers on the back of my '86 were made with enough clearance for a wiper.

1983 is of course the year GM put performance back on the map with the F-bodies and also the Monte SS/Regal T-Type/Hurst Olds etc. The L69 190 Hp 305 combined with the 5 speed stick and 3.73:1 rear gears made for 14.8 second 1/4 mile times in the F-bodies which was muscle car territory at that time. It's a shame that Gm didn't get the suspension right until 1984 as the 82 and 83 Z28 suffered from a rock hard ride which of course reduced the interior to a barrage of squeaks and rattles.

Rear wiper was an option. Very few produced with them. I own an exceptional example 1983 z28 with 18k original miles. All original car with exception of an alarm radio and of course new tires belts and hoses. Still running with original plugs in it. For pics message 9045454373 car is for sale at 12k. Appraised at 14k.
