Who has driven a Wrangler lately?

Recommended Posts

I drove a 4dr as a rental. I admit to liking it except when driving it through a mountain pass at 50-75mph in Nevada where it's top-heaviness became pretty apparent.

I do get the bug for a Wrangler periodically. I'd only get the 2dr though with the stick and the soft top. I do like the more squarish styling of the current generation, and the V6s they use now appear to be holding up well.

I'm just going to have to drive one and see what I think.

How about one of these?

It's interesting, but a bit beyond budget I'd guess.

Agree pricey for a snow pusher and while very nice and drive great, they still lack the room of a full Size 2 door SUV that Chevy / GMC used to build.

With all the stupid Nanny Devices being required, I have found it is worth while to keep restoring my 94 suburban and run it on CNG as it is far cheaper to insure and it still gets looks by people when I am out and about.

Is there is a LARGE difference in ride quality between the 2 and 4 door due to the wheelbase difference?

With the Wrangler? Probably. The standard Wrangler has a very short wheel base.

With the Tahoe 2-door no, not much difference at all.

Was the 2dr Tahoe on a shorter wb than the 4dr ?

I believe so, but not very. It's long enough for a good ride anyway.

6 inches, looks like... also, the 2dr wheelbase was about 6 inches longer than the Ford Bronco, which was only 104.7.

2-door: 111.5 in (2,832 mm)

4-door: 117.5 in (2,985 mm)
