I was thinking the Jag and the Packard had broadly similar styling concepts– traditional hood shape and domed trunk like their immediate predecessors, but with a more modern single-bough body instead of separate fenders. If the Packard's lines had a more gentle arch and sharper crease like the Jag, it might have been a sight more attractive.
