Un-Official C&G Sketch Competition...

Okay, I think it would be nice to have maybe one or two alternative, casual, and non-official competitions here at C&G. Ones that do not have as many guidelines and are more freelance. NOS2006 did something like what I am about to do over at the old forums, so I decided I would do a new one.

Your task is to design a new car for an automaker that has gone bankrupt, etc., and does not currently produce cars.

Examples are:
-Studebaker Pickup
-Oldsmobile Toronado

You must follow these rules:
-A 3/4 Front View is the only needed view. Other views are optional.
-You must make your entry whatever that car was when it was being built. (An exmple would be that the Olds Toronado was a coupe during it's entire production run. If you make a new Toronado, it has to be a coupe. The size of the car is up to you.)
-It is recommended you take a few cues from concepts/production cars that the automaker produced during it's run, etc.
-Entry must be recieved by 8:00 PM (EST) on October 10th, 2005.

Good luck! Edited by YellowJacket894

Penguin, man, that was going to be produced, I know. But, tell me, have you seen a single one on the road? Don't see too many 1998 F-Body-based Avantis, either. To me, Stude is a dead company. :)

When did MG go under?

[post="12129"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

Here's a news article...close enough for me, at best they are Chinese!

"Investigating MG Rover's demise
MG Rover's administrators are gearing up for a meeting with the group's creditors.

Unions and workers have been angered by the firm's demise

On Friday, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) will give an update on Rover's affairs, following its collapse in April which led to thousands of job losses.

The failure of the last UK-owned volume carmaker has led to a slew of allegations that Rover's owners, the government or even its accountants have kept the public in the dark about its true situation.

To find out which, if any, of these allegations are true, numerous investigations have been launched into the group's demise. In addition, other players have said they will launch enquiries of their own.

I just had time for a couple of quick sketches. The first is a modern version of a Mercer Raceabout, a potent car for the time, with an absolute minimum of bodywork. No top, no doors, a thinly disquised racing car with just the bare minimum required to make it street legal.

Since Rover has gone belly up, I'm also submitting a design for a new MG sports car.

Guys, I'll try to come back tommarow for awhile to get the voting up. I've been very busy, so sometimes it's hard to find the time to come back and end what you've started. (Sorry about that!)

Guys, could you just use this thread for voting? Internet Explorer is screwing up, and everytime I try to open another window to get the voting thread set up, I get a stupid error message. Thanks billions!
