MotorWeek | Retro Review: '90 Geo Storm GSi

Recommended Posts

Back in the day, I considered buying one of these or the near twin, Isuzu Impulse.  When I test drove that car on the streets of Oakland, California, I unintentionally ran a red light and freaked out the sales guy. The car was very cramped inside.  I ended up getting a 1991 Acura Integra instead.

While not a car that fit me, I have friends that had them and they loved the minimalist fun to drive with good gas mileage and low cost that the car was. Today I feel the auto industry has forgotten that we still need minimalist auto's for people who do not car about the electronics and want a basic point a to b ride.

The GOV has gone overboard in requiring so much safety crap that it makes it hard to build a low cost 10K dollar car.

Friend of mine had one as his first car out of highschool....

Interesting.  A friend of mine drove a Honda coupe through HS, then switched to the GEO Storm.  He much-prefered the GEO, though he didn't have it nearly as long.....
