5 Door Hatchbacks

Recommended Posts

My first car was a 5dr hatchback ('84 Ford Escort L diesel). My second car was/is (still have it) a 3dr hatchback ('87 Ford Mustang GT).

I've always preferred hatchbacks to trunked models for compacts and subcompacts...a hatch makes a small car much more practical than a tiny trunk, IMHO.

Some hatchbacks that have a more vertical rear window are kind of like a wagon, which is ok..I like wagons and SUVs (which are really just wagons of different sort).

Looking back over almost 20 years of driving, I've always had at least one hatchback, whether it was a car or SUV.

Eh...they're aight. I agree that those aren't the best representatives from the segment.

EDIT: the Astra looks great. I hope we get it here...you know, Saturn used to have an S wagon...

I also like 5doors, but I wouldn't say the ones you pictured are the best available, apart from the Focus ST.

I like the more hatckback style of 5 more than the wagon like ones.

The Caliber is Pro

It's too hot to handle :P

Great... now I have to gauge my eyes out after seeing such an eye sore like that.

Anyways, other than the Caliber, I also like the ones you guys posted. The Astra rocks, the Golf is hot, and the Mazda3 is awesome

It really depends. The earlier Alfas, I don't like them as much, but if they redesign it to follow the 159's design it would look hot.

Vectra hatch is nice, especially in VXR/GTS forms.

The 323 Astina you posted is nice as well. I've always wanted one of those.

6 Sport is nice as well.

Just if Pontiac dumps the Vibrolla and get a real Delta or Kappa II hatchback...

Well styling is subjective, but IMO the 318ti is ugly. The Caliber looks very cool to me

The first gen 3-series ti was sort of wierd, but the second gen not sold in NA is beautiful. I would've taken it if it was sold here.

And... there's no use arguing with BV. He's just... special.

I admit the 318ti isn't the best looking car there ever was... but the Caliber is ugly. I understand, though... You're a Dodge fan... it's hard to admit these types of things. :P

Yeah... it's hot, very hot. And yeah... you can't argue with me as I always win, being special and all. :D

Well it depends. He mentioned it's "cool", and have to admit, the idea behind the Caliber is cool, features and all. But the look... meh. It's one of those idea A+ execution D- things.

The Saabaru is sweet but the Caliber is gross!

The Chevette and BMW 1 series are cool just

based on the fact that they're RWD, the Mazda

is a good looking econobox but most of the

rest of them are unappealing to me. The new

Golf is growing on me, mostly due to those

damn funny "Un-Pimp Your Ride" commercials.

Vee-Duub is in da House! :P
