1964 Imperial Versus Cadillac Comparison

Recommended Posts

I'm betting only the original poster will catch my reference without the help of Google

I caught it.  That is from the 1961 Oldsmobiles and the commercial referring to wearing a hat.

It was this commercial:

If not that, It is from the musical and that song  Ladies Who Lunch.  Elaine Stritch.

Yes, it was the musical Company and the song Ladies who Lunch.

By 1964 men's hats were quickly falling out of fashion... brought on, supposedly, buy the young and fashionable JFK who practically refused to wear one even at formal occasions and broke tradition of wearing a hat at his inauguration.

I am mocking Chrysler somewhat for pointing out the hat room in this Imperial.

Ties in with my reference to Keller- he was big on hat room in mid '50s Chryslers and IIRC was nonplussed when the much lower '57s came out (would have to check that- not sure of his career span @ ChryCo).
