I always thought these looked cool.  I liked that they had a V8 and rear drive, and the retro look.  They weren't worth the $40k ask price for them though.  I think they still look good now, but used they seem to cost more than they should be worth.

It's because they sold in limited numbers and are a modern classic.

Exactly. Anything made in limited numbers like the T-Bird is going sell for more than normal on the used market.
