The SS isn't underrated.. It'ls just over priced. Or I guess a better way to word that is that it is priced high for 1) being a Chevy car, 2) a sedan that obviously isn't a Vette or Camaro.

Actually, i think that it is because in some ways incomes have not kept up over the last 40 or fifty years.  In 1969, once could work in a grocery store and buy a new Chevrolet Impala with a 396 in it....today one would be pressed to buy a well used W body Impala with what one would make slinging cheese and pastries...
