A car made from a guitar?

Recommended Posts

thanks for the idea YJ... you did a Fender... i did a Gibson... took cues from the SG, my personal favorite guitar... you can see it in the scoops and the coke bottle body... i used the vents and such from the RAM air 6 GTO... just because i like how they look and it fits the car

yes thats Iommi as in Tony Iommi, guitarist for Black Sabbath... he used an SG throughout his entire career so i named the car after him (Young doesnt work as a car name... so i apologize to all the ACDC fans haha)

THAT is f'ing GREAT...I love it !

I have a 1968 SG special with double humbukets and it is the nasty !

On one of Jeff Becks solo lp's "Gutiar Garage" or sump'in like that he has a painting on ther cover of fenders and gibsons as cars at the station...it's awesome.

I also have a 60 strat, but the SG is 3 times as loud !!! LOL.

That's a great sketch and I like how you've used the SG body shape on the hood scoop design.

My buddy Duffy is obsessed wiht only two things in this

world... classic American RWD cars & guitars. He has

two vintage Fenders, 1969 & 1971 IIRC.

I like this car, though it looks like a rebadged GTO.

it looks so much like a GTO because as i said... i used the vents and such from the RAM air 6 concept... i love that car and while i was drawing of this i thought the vents and such might look good on it so i tried it and they did... lol

tho i may change them... because i could probably come up with something better...

If you plan to try this again, why not use the Nighthawk for inspiration?

well im not planning on making an entirely new car... just changing the vents and foglights that are directly lifted from the RAM air 6 GTO...

hey YJ have you ever seen Gibson's custom shop's corvette guitars? i remember they did two of them... one was a C5 Z06 and the other was a '63 Sting Ray... i think there are pictures of them both on the Gibson website someplace

The rear quarter panel & lower fascia

is where I see the most GTO. The car

seems to be a mild custom of the GTO

Woodward concept, even the scoops

are there. I'm not sure if this was

subconscious or whatever... it's just an

observation on my part.

EDIT: Oh... read your 2nd to last post.

I get it now. :)

Monte: You can bet I've seen them. I've also seen and played a few of the PRS Guitars made for the 'Vette's 50th annivarsary.
