New VE Commodore pics!

Recommended Posts

Very conservatively styled from what I can see.

Yip, great idea to radically change a sucessful model. Ford did this back in 98 (?) when they changed from the EF to the AU Falcon. Sales pretty much died because of the radically different shape.

As is usual most vehicles look better in the metal (with coverings removed).

I personally am looking forward to having the VE in our dealership asap!! :ohyeah:

We here in Australia have been having a great time getting pictures of these VE Mules that have been driving around the streets of Melbourne. So of the drivers of these cars have not been very happy and we had one driver cover his dash with his jumper so we could not get pics.

Here is a link to some of the pictures we have taken

VE Pics

I think some people think this is meant to be some sort of muscle car. REMEMBER this car is designed to be the top selling car in Australia, with over 50% of sales being 3.6 V6 fleet sales. Off course it is RWD and has an optional 6.0 V8, and there are some very muscle car style versions, especially those from HSV (official tuner). But in the end Holden MUST make this car appeal to many and offend few, such is always the case with a best selling car in any market.

One of the reasons the monaro is very popular here is because of the ones they brought out in the 60's 70's here some pics of these cars.

Think of it this way. The new VE isnt styled for american tastes but for australians (which is closer to european tastes).

A car like this should not have confusing styling themes i.e. the trans am or the mustangs. This car have many BMW lines and proportions, with the exception of the Bangled designs.

In real life this car is imposing, sleek, classy and muscular.............this look is backed up by RWD layout and huge 6L (Gen4) engine.
