Have you ever noticed it's almost always Japanese brands that are the ones driving without headlights on? Mostly Toyo/Lexus but some Nissans...

Ha.  I've noticed it a lot on Subaru wagons.  One front lamp is often not working.  Outbacks of about 5+ years and some Foresters.  God, I hate those vehicles.  But y'all already know that.

Lately, I have noticed a ton of Honda's driving at late dusk with no lights on and you can barely see them. Last night a grey or near black Honda with no lights on around 7pm as the last wisps of light dropped from the sky almost hit me. I flashed the guy as did others and the moron just kept driving with no lights on period.

Weird that it is mostly Asian auto's I see with no lights on late at dusk going into the evening. Why they think it is safe is mind boggling.

The driving w/ the lights off could be a side effect of DRLs and the always lit gauges in modern cars.  (floroluminescent?).   It used to be you had to turn on at least the parking lights to have dash lights, but newer IPs have the gauges always lit.

On some vehicles they can be turned off.

I've got mine on auto mode.  Yes, they will not be as long lived.  BTDT.

It's when you get into a rental car or drive someone else's car that you have to check their lamp settings.
