SVE or Specialty Vehicle Engineering has been picked by GMC to make a limited run of a 2019 GMC 455HP Syclone available in 2WD or 4WD extended cab Pickup. The original was a Turbocharged V6, SVE and GMC will use a supercharged V6 creating nearly 50% more power than the OEM V6 when compared to the factories specification. The 2019 Syclone is a collaborative effort between GMC and SVE where GMC supplied a canvas that allows the artist, SVE to turn into a tire-scorching monster.

Well that’ll burn through some tires, the old fashioned way. Any mention of price?

Syclone package is a $39,990 package added to your choice of GMC Pickup truck. The truck in the color you choose then goes to SVE to have the package applied according to their web site.

I do wonder if you could order a base V6 4WD pickup and get the Syclone package as that would make it very affordable.

This is only on the Canyon tho, correct? It makes zero sense to offer it on the Sierra, which you can already get with 420 HP.

Correct, only on the midsize Canyon. Though the web site does have a special performance package available for the Sierra which has two levels, an 825HP or 1000HP package for the Sierra / Silverado trucks.

SVE?

I know this company's name was SLP...of Trans Am Firehawk fame and then unto the actual production of the 4rth generation F-Body Camaro SS and Trans Am WS6 Ram Air stuff...

But wasnt SVE a Ford aftermarket performance company in the 1990s or early 2000s?

Anyway, glad that this nameplate is back.

Now of Ford could do a Lightning alongside the Raptor and we are all good.

Well, we will need a SUV based on the Canyon and then a Typhoon version and THEN we re all good.

Not quite...RAM could give us another "Lil Red Express"  and THEN we are all good!

Ford's factory tuning brand was SVT, I don't recall an SVE then.    SVE used to be SLP, it's Ed Hamburger's company.

SVT!!!

Yeah.  S. V.... T.

Thanx for the info.

SVE...SVT...close but no cigar.  Especially cigars from Cuba...because of the embargo???

Or has that been lifted? Maybe reinstated?

There goes my memory again...

Even the cheapest Canyon puts that total at near $70K! Holy hell! I dig the performance but the price? Not so much.

Yup, the cost is a factor. The original Syclone in 1991 was $25,500 which is equal to $47,880.73 according to this inflation calculator. https://www.dollartimes.com/inflation/inflation.php?amount=25500&year=1991

So having a $70K plus new Syclone is pricey, but I bet they will sell everyone they make.

Meh, one of those blink-and-you-miss-it low volume novelties.  Only making 100, probably already pre-sold.  Most will end up crashed within hours of delivery or put in storage.

Yeah.. At that price it could probably be done much cheaper paying a high end, reputable shop.

I do get that you're buying a warranty with things like this though.

Agree that you could if you know the shop well, one could do this themselves to a certain point, yet having a GM backed 3yr / 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on a beast like this is cool.

Wish GM would see that they need to do this on a bigger scale and include the Typhoon.
