2021 Rolls-Royce Phantom vs Maybach S-Class // King Meets Prince

The Rolls just has so much more presence.

Yes.

But for me, the Rolls does NOTHING to excite me.

Actually, if the S Class was less rounded than what it is, Id prefer it over the Rolls 10 fold.  But even the S Class does nothing for me as its too roundy.

I dont mind that the Rolls is high (like they say in the video, high like an SUV) or that its like a brick. And its ugly.  There are no lines to speak of.  Sure, the A pillar runs down to the hood and it follows through with that bulge and comes rolling through the "bonnet" where it meets up to the end to form the box where the Parthenon "radiator" grille will be housed in the front. And THAT is a nice line and contour to look at and talk about. But the rest of the body is just bland and boxy.  The British dont like the adjective "boorish" but if the Rolls had some boorish aspects to it, THEN Id like it actually.  Its lacking in the boorish department in my opinion.

Back to the Mercedes.  Its too rounded.  And its too closely designed to look like the rest of Mercedes' waaaaaay cheaper offerings.

And that C Class is from 2015.   And it looks more prestigious.

The pick that I chose for the Mayback, by chance, the chrome on the B pillar looks like an aftermarket job that people did on their DTS Cadillacs 20 years ago...   (not a good look. Looks cheaply done. Looks fake.)

Keep in mind that I LOVE chrome...   I love garish and boorish.

Both the Rolls and Mercedes Maybach do NOTHING for me on the outside.

On the inside however...     luxury is luxury.

What is luxury?

Take a look...better yet, sit inside one of these and let someone drive you and you will find out.

I have a question though.

What is it with the champagne flutes and a place to put them in the arm rests in the back?

In Quebec, drinking and driving is NOT permitted. THAT includes the passengers.  No alcohol is permitted to be drank anywhere in a vehicle. Unless its a limousine.   But the Maybach S Class  and Rolls are not classified as such.  Maybe they are and Im mistaken?  But If I am to understand the law, its fine and dandy to have champagne flutes but champagne is NOT to be drank from them.  Cherry Coke would be the way to go if you dont want the SQ and SPVM to drag your drunken ass out of the car and possibly be tasered with a court date of defending  yourself of being under the influence while in a running vehicle...

I have to say though, the button to open and close the doors on the S Class Maybach seems dope. Unnecessarily lazy but isnt that what makes luxury?  To facilitate the little mundane things that rich people can't/won't/refuse to do for themselves?   I like!

But the spinning tweeter is just a useless gimmick. I dont like that.

To me, neither is truly an exciting vehicle. They're to be sat in and driven me around while I do big business things in the back seat. I'd prefer the Rolls are it's presence, even if the Maybach were to be a little "better" vehicle.

The Rolls is "Fck you money" while the Maybach is straight classy and very modest looking (when not in a two-tone paint job).

In some states(I know Missouri is one of them) it is legal for the passengers to consume alcohol but there cannot be more open containers than there are PASSENGERS. For example, there cannot be 6 open beers and 4 people not driving. One of those will be assumed it was the driver's regardless of them blowing 0.00 BAC. I don't think it's a DUI but it's still a nasty fine (still blowing 0.00).

My personal opinion on why they started doing this, they ran out of party tricks at some point and started offering this.

If I was rich, I wouldnt want to be driven around. But then again, I aint stinkin' rich so what the fck do I know about not wanting to be driven around?

You said,  big business in the back...and THAT would be what the stinkin' rich do...

The stinkin' rich also do other big 'business' stuff in the back to which the little window that separates the back from the front goes up to which nobody is privy to  other than the individuals that are in the back...  So I guess I dont know what the hell Im talking about saying I wouldnt want to be driven around...   (wink wink)

Its funny how Rolls Royce has become fck you money when in the past, Rolls Royce was about hush hush. Meaning, yes, people knew you had loads of money when they saw you pull up in one, but it was conservatively said.   Roles and Rolls have been reversed.

Thank-you for clearing the alcohol part.

Yes. I agree.  Its a nice feature to have. A fridge to cool your champagne to celebrate the next big contract being signed or that your divorce went through and the bitch aint getting nothing because of that tight pre-nup and unto to the hot 21 year old Applebees waitress that everybody on Tik Tok is swooning over her influential...um... breasts...      Like I said...I am DEAD wrong for NOT wanting to be driven in one  of these.  And yes...DEAD...as If I EVER try to leave my wife for a hot 21 year old Applebees waitress with influential breasts...she will KILL me!!!

I think the intent or reason to be driven is so one CAN work in the back because they're that busy. Orrrrr because they just don't feel like driving. Personally, I wouldn't want a driver either, unless I was that busy and NEEDED the extra time to do work things.

That's actually a very good point. They never used to be "fck you money".

Regarding being driven around...

Im a blue collar guy.

I do things on my own.

 I hate help.

I dont ask for it nor do I want to be waited on hand and foot.

Unless of course you happen to be married to me. :booyah:

Then it becomes my wife's...ahem...job...to cook my dinners and stuff... :D

She is a stay at home mommy/wife.    She tells me that she got the short end of the stick. I tell her that its a you problem, not a me problem...   What does Halo the Master Chief Collection contain? - Quora
