Worst Automotive Components of All Time: Cadillac Interior Controls (1974-79)

Recommended Posts

I can't say I know much about this wiper feature, though the one design where it's integrated into the driver's door near the outside mirror is simpler and somewhat appealing.

What I will say is that I really like the warning lamps and such in that upper layer of the Cadillac's dash cowl.  It works very well with the horizontal sweep of most Cadillac dashes in that era, and even in the smaller Seville.  It seems to be a design feature that is recycled, having come around again on the Aurora decades later.  It doesn't make it a ravine dash, though, which is what I really liked about the first W-body Regal, until they changed it to a more conventional "3 zone" dash for M.Y.s 1995 and 1996.

Look at the litter receptacle in the footwell of the Caddy with the red leather interior!  I had forgotten about those.

This guy cranks out a lot of YouTubes.  I say he knows and likes cars more so than anyone on our forum, and that's saying a lot!
