Second-Gen 2024 Cadillac CT6 Caught Undisguised In China

Recommended Posts

I akways liked the CT6.   The 2nd gen looks to be a nicely styled one as well.  But it always felt to me as there was something missing. Some element that would make it 'pop' more.  As is, including what it seems to be the 2nd gen, is kinda bland still.   I didnt know what is missing.

I do like the new Hoffmeister kink-ish rear C Pillar on the rear window.  Emulates the Escala. And its a great addition to the CT6.

The new front end is just okay.  The old front end was equally just okay.  So its...okay.   Well...I do prefer the headlights being separated from the vertical lights in the 2nd gen.  Its a cleaner look.

Both the 1st gen and 2nd gen rear ends are nice.  I do prefer the circular tips that the 1st gen employed rather than the renctangular slits.   But not a deal breaker.

1st gen is a sleek car. I gather that the 2nd gen will be the same.  I think the Hoffmeister Kink-iesh C Pillar treatment makes it sleeker.

I get that they tried to give the Gen 2 CT6 for China the Escala look.

The FAILURE is that they gave it the LYRIQ Vertical lights and an ICE version of the attempt to be like the LYRIQ with the Escala look and what only looks like a slit for air breathing above that god awful crom piece of crap at the top of the grill.

This head on picture show to me that the chrome slot seems to be an air intake.

I just think this merge of Cadillac EV LYRIQ and an ICE with cues from Escala concept is a Failure together. Cadillac should have just given them the concept front end and it would be way better.

The more I look at the Escala Concept, they had a better flow in that front end than what the new Gen 2 CT6 is getting.

Ackward.

  • The Cadillac GT4 - A Cadillac Crossover you can't have.... for now

General Motors has recently been in the habit of releasing vehicles in China before bringing them to the U.S.  Buick released the Envista in China back in September of 2022 but waited until just a few weeks ago to announce the Envista for the U.S. Similar patterns have happened with the Cadillac XT4 and Buick Encore GX. We suspect the same thing is happening here with the Cadillac GT4 that debuted Monday in China. What is it? The Cadillac GT4 is essentially a slightly fastback version

Volkswagen ID.Buzz Coming to the U.S. in Long-Wheelbase Form

Volkswagen has been teasing us with the I.D. Buzz for 6-years when they made the announcement back in 2017 that they would bring the I.D. Buzz to market. The standard wheelbase model has been on sale in Europe since May of last year, and today, Volkswagen is officially announcing the long-wheelbase version for sale in the U.S. starting next year. The ID.Buzz will not, as previously reported, be built at VW's Chatanooga plant alongside the ID.4, instead being built in VW's Hanover Germ

The New Chevrolet Colorado gets a New Bison ZR2

The performance off-road mid-size pickup truck war has turned into a hot war in 2023.  Ford has recently released their 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor, and Toyota introduced an all-new 2024 Tacoma with an incredibly capable Tacoma TRD Off Road. Back in 2018, Chevrolet teamed up with American Expedition Vehicles to the 2019 Chevy Colorado Bison ZR2 to the Colorado lineup.  About a year ago, the all-new 2023 Colorado was released, and while there was a ZR2, the Bison was not part of the announcement
