2023 Corvette Z06 vs Ferrari 458 vs Porsche GT3 | Top Gear

Recommended Posts

It seems like any Euro automotive journalist cant seem to properly give accolades to an American car.  It phoquing bothers them for whatever reason to admit that something from America can and is great.

Its tiresome to hear any goddamned Euro auto-journalist give his/her opinion...

yet again...another Euro moronic automotive  journalist @4:34  states like its the first time a Corvette is actually good around the corners.  His delivery of "once you turn in to a corner, aNd iTs rEaLLy GoOd aRoUnD cOrnErs" is just lazy shytty and false stereotyping of American cars...   The Corvette WaS  rEaLLy GoOd aRoUnD cOrnErs since 1984 with the C4.    Even the 3rd gen F-Bodies Camaro/Firebird wERe  rEaLLy GoOd aRoUnD cOrnErs...   Cadillacs for 20 plus phoquing years have been  rEaLLy GoOd aRoUnD cOrnErs.   Dont they have another narrative to talk about in Europe???

Oh yes they do.  And I predicted it.  Chevrolet makes the Z06 a GT car rather than a raw track car, and C8 has NO fault with the interior, yet the guy bitches that the Z06 has all kinds of bells and whistles and THAT makes it have excess weight...   Chevy would have eliminated those bells and whistles to make the Z06 a pure raw track car and that phoquer would bitch about how pedestrian the Corvette is...

I sure wish idiot self-hating Amercans (of the automotive realm of hating American cars BUT...also...of all political stripes) would just see how the world hates the US and would just stop hating on each other and just make peace and come together to truly make America Great Again WITHOUT the political shenigans...

From one tiny Top Gear review of the C8 Corvette Z06 and I...as a bloody Canadian of all things, got so pissy and got proud to be American and wants America to phoquing DOMINATE!!!

So???!!!

I wake up this morning and I log in and find myself on this topic again. I read what I wrote and think to myself  "geez, what a prick I coukld be. What a prick thing to say about the English automotive guy, what a prick move I just done,"   Then I listen to the video again...but I come to the same conclusion.

The dude praises the Porsche's crappy road car qualities that the outside noise is harse but blames that on America's choice of concrete but nay a word about how good the Corvette Z06's keeps the outside world away from the interior...   He quietly tells a tale about it being a better road car than the Porsche at the end.   Maybe I did take his words on how well the C8 Z06 turns the corners a little too far and too serious, but maybe not.  In pure British fashion, there is great backhanded praises to his words and tones he uses to describe and praise the Vette.    A 'my first' supercar look, to falsey claim that the Z06 isnt visceral enough, to whining about comfort options keeping the weight of the Z06 high...while true, NOT admitting or putting ENOUGH accent on the fact that the Z06 is NOT a raw track car but a pure track car that retains the GT purpose of the Corvette.  Whining about the weight and also not being able to see the engine while KNOWING he has THE convertible at his disposal and NOT the coupe...    Experiencing the acceleration but making it seem it has turbo lag qualities...    His tone when talking about the corners is a tone of being surprised that the Z06 is ReAllY GoOd aRoUnD ThE CoRnErS and that the outside world is kept outside but blames the concrete when driving the Porsche...    First time I hear a driver say that you sit too high in the C8.   Talking back-handedly about how a dumb Brit would imagine how an American V8 would be like...  That right there is some quality bullshyte as if a low end torque V8 is some how the lesser one between  a high revving one but sneakily praising the LT6 so nobody gets offended by his pure British way of insulting.  He mentions that one sits UPRIGHT in the Porsche and its far from relaxing he says, yet he says nothing quite as negative on the way he talked about the Vette sitting high...

Nah...I wasnt harsh in my analysis of that English Limey and their Top Gear platform.  When the blowhard Clarkson lead the way, his antics were sometimes funny, but the message was ALWAYS loud and clear, American cars were ALWAYS to be inferior.  Its a way to sell the Top Gear platform not only to the British, but as it were, to the world making it seem that American cars were bad and worse then all other cars of the world.   And it continues WITHOUT May and Clarkson with this fool.  The ONLY Top gear presenter I fully back and respect is Harris.  He seems to be the least biased and more real of any of them.  He doesnt hide what car he likes best and what he gravitates to, but he gives a more honest review.

  • Chevy Estimated Range for Silverado EV Work Truck Raised to 450 miles

When Chevrolet initially took the wraps off the Silverado EV last year, GM had estimated up to a 400 mile range based on its own calculations.  As the Silverado EV has made its way through development, it went for EPA certification and came back with 50 miles more than GM's estimate.  With this new EPA certification, the Silverado EV has an over 100-mile advantage over its only on-sale competitor the F-150 Lightning Extended Range (320 miles). The Silverado EV will launch first in WT trim with t

All New 2024 Toyota Tacoma Yearns For Adventure

The Toyota Tacoma has been the best-selling mid-size pickup in the U.S. for nearly 20 years. Holding such an important place in the lineup, Toyota has been very conservative with updates in the past.  The outgoing generation ran for a full 7 years, but even that was based on a platform that dates all the way back to 2004.  For 2024, the Tacoma sheds the old platform entirely and joins the Tundra and Sequoia on Toyota's new TNGA-F global truck platform.  The 2024 Tacoma is the latest (and final)

The Ford Ranger Raptor Finally Comes to the US

After years of being forbidden fruit offered only in overseas markets, Ford has finally deemed the Ranger Raptor worthy enough to bring to the U.S. The biggest reason for the U.S. not getting the prior version was its standard diesel power and the inability of the platform to take a sizable V6 engine. When Ford redesigned the 2024 Ranger (read more about the 2024 Ford Ranger here), they made sure to alter the engine bay and chassis to accommodate a V6. Powering the Ranger Raptor is a 3.0-li
