2023 GMC Canyon AT4 | Finally Modern

Recommended Posts

Really like this truck, exterior is great IMHO and I do love the tailgate with the storage section.

Dash has clear connection to the Hummer EV center stack. Like the fully digital customizable dash. Interior seems to be a very natural layout of controls and I love the two-tone interior.

I love the look in the Volcanic Red color and for sure would get the AT4X version.

A bit surprised by the price, as configured for an AT4X edition, $69,185. WOW

I like that grille a lot... but this move by GM to standardize all of the headlight configurations regardless of brand is concerning.

Could it be a money saving move on the ICE side as they focus on R&D on different EV looks for each Brand?

I agree with you that the identical headlight is not a good thing to do for all brands as I hated it on the current Escalade where it has a nose of the Chevrolet and does not say Escalade to me. They should have kept the vertical headlights of the last generation Escalade and still added the vertical Day time running lights in the lower facia as it has now.

The EVs are getting it too.

Doh, Yup you are right looking at the complete portfolio.

I hope they realize this could go bad long range as just basic badge cloning. Right now GMC looks anough different than Chevrolet, but the problem is clearly there. Will be interested to see the Cadillac other EVs that get shown this year.

I like both.  But after a long thought about it, I think I like the Chevy Colorado better.  And although both colours (red and blue in this case) look good on the trucks, I think I like the blue better.

They are soooo similar that the majority of people will not be able to differentiate without the badge in the middle.

I lean towards the Colorado here, as well.

I just hate how expensive they are. I built a Colorado how I'd actually buy and it was like 45k or so. Now when I try and build the same truck their site is telling me to reach out to a dealer for pricing. GTFO.

Badge engineering EXACTLY like how it was in the 1980s and 1990s GM.   Oh well.  It doesnt bother me as I grew up with THAT kind of GM reality.     Hopefully it doesnt sour people away from GM like it did back then.  I heard that these are actually great trucks.

Yeah...well.   Everything has gone up. Automobiles waaaaay before everything else even before Covid.  OEMs have been guilty of price gouging for awhile and its the consumers that are partly to blame for that as well as consumers have ACCEPTED this reality and to boot, consumers also opt for loaded up vehicles.

Trust me...  I agree with your "GTFO" sentiment.  I aint buying a new car anytime soon.  I will live with my now 10 and 11 year old cars for as looooong as I can.   Both cars do not have any real signs of debilitating corrosion and are mechanically quite reliable.  So a BIG

to ANY OEM for a new car purchase anytime soon.  And for the first time in a very long while, I may be thinking about the used car market if it need be...

PS.  Yellow does NOT look good on those trucks. LOL

@ccap41 @oldshurst442 @Drew Dowdell While I see the Badge engineering look coming on strong, in regard to my GMC different comment was about the Pure EVs.

To me there is enough difference between all three to be fine with this.

It is sadly in the lower levels where the badge engineering seems to be worse.

For some reason, it doesn't bother me near as much on a truck. I still don't love it but, I don't hate it like I do with cars and CUVs.

You're spot on here. As much as I look and read about cars, when I look at prices, I know I'm nowhere close to buying anything.

I just find it crappy they don't even list the price. They want me to reach out to a dealership to get a price. In no way would I be able to simply inquire with a dealership and be off the phone in 2 minutes. They'll hassle and try and sell me one, get me to order one, blah blah blah.

I think it's the kind of yellow one needs to see in person. I don't think it looks fantastic in pictures but I bet the metallic looks awesome in person.

  • Cadillac Refreshes the CT5 with an Updated Look for 2025

Today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Cadillac unveiled the refreshed Cadillac CT5 sedan.  CT5 retail sales have been on an upswing of late, increasing over 35%.  In a time when sedan sales are stagnating or disappearing entirely, Cadillac's positive numbers have given hope that the luxury sedan market isn't quite dead yet. The refresh of the CT5 begins with the exterior. A new larger, bolder grille is flanked by new vertically stacked headlamps and Cadillac's sign

Ford updates the 2024 F-150 with More Standard Power, More Hybrid Production, and a New Tailgate

Tonight at an event ahead of the Detroit Auto Show, Ford unveiled the updated 2024 Ford F-150. Starting in 2024, the F-150 will drop the base 3.3-liter naturally aspirated V6 in favor of the familiar 2.7-liter Ecoboost V6. Ford expects to double the mix of hybrid a
