  1. PSA have any plans to at least check the sales charts of fiat & alfa? 'cause Peugeot is in the very same, tiny basket of 'who-asked-you-to?'.
  2. Saw a Stelvio new at the 24hr fitness last night when I went to work out, the sun roof was partially open. I told the person they were calling for rain and he looked at me pissed and said there was nothing he could do as it was no longer functional, being taken in today and so far he had buyers remorse due to the poor quality of the CUV. I have to think that anyone that is willing to pay the money these auto's command will look at the reviews and think twice about buying their quality-less auto's.
  3. The current Yaris sedan is a Mazda 2, the US market hatch was a Toyota. I don't think we ever got this restyled version, in orange it would look like a demented Jack-o-Lantern.
  4. Yes, but I assume this is just another example of GM being cheap.
  5. According to a report in Automobile Magazine, the Ford Mustang could move to the CD6 platform that underpins the 2020 Ford Explorer, but the soonest that would happen is 2026. The CD6 platform also underpins the Lincoln Aviator and will be used in the next generation Ford Edge. One of the side effects of moving to the new platform is that the Mustang would become much larger and heavier than the current S550 platform car, possibly up to the length of the Dodge Challenger. Currently, the Mustang is 188.3 inches long and rides on a 107.1 inch wheelbase, while the Challenger clocks in nearly 10 inches longer at 197.9 inches with a 116.2 inch wheelbase. The widths of the two cars are pretty much dead on. Part of the reason the Challenger is so large is because it is built on the same full-size sedan platform as the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. Chevy had the same issue with the 5th generation Camaro which was built on a full-size sedan platform shared with the Pontiac G8. While Ford would be taking that a step further by using an SUV platform, the CD6 architecture is said to be flexible enough to build a 2-door sports coupe upon. Sources differ on when this CD6 platform Mustang, code-named S650, will appear, but they range from 2026 to 2029. So either way it is clear that the current car has a lot of life left in it. Ford apparently has a major refresh planned that will include all new sheet metal and underbody work. That refresh will also be where the hybrid Mustang appears. There is also the second Ecoboost 4-cylinder coming that we have yet to get details on. You can read more below. Related:
  6. The Alfa interiors aren't as good as any German car, not even close. So there is one problem, they have performance but the Germans have that too. And the reliability worries I feel like are a huge obstacle. You almost know going in it will break so why buy it? Alfa almost has to give these cars away for 5 years and prove they are reliable before masses will pay money for them. They should be selling Alfa's at $400 a month for 72 months. I get that is $28k, but that is about what people are willing to risk on one of these. For a hot second Alfa was bragging how the Guilia was the fastest 4-door around the Nurburgring and the Stelvio was the fastest SUV, then Mercedes took both those away about a month later. So you are getting 2nd place performance with sub par interior and bottom of the barrel reliability. Not a recipe for success.
  7. Short beds are for posers.
  8. I'm bout to go all jihad on Barra for this ~
  9. Well, two GM brands have French roots--directly and indirectly. As an aside, for French-Canadian singers I prefer Mylene Farmer, and for French musicians/bands I like M83 and Kavinsky.
  10. Celine Dion is not from Europe; she is French Canadian. Otherwise, good point.
  11. FIAT owns most if not all Italian automakers. That is the problem.
  12. Being Italian one would expect the Stelvio to be of low quality and poor reliability, but high style. At least they aren't known for catching fire spontaneously like Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
  13. Interesting! ? In the past they have built concepts that caught my attention but never delivered what I would buy or fit in. Be interesting to see how they do their EV platform. ? Course @ocnblu will only see this as ?
  14. Yeah, I do like the R/T. I won't be buying new though, so it's harder to find an R/T used with the options I want. Right now, I'm looking at the 300S with AWD and adaptive cruise. I'm finding 2018s with like 20k miles on them for about $25k
  15. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6518852035482304512 Awesome read on what GM is doing to ensure diversity and equal pay. 16. Exactly. A buddy of mine who him and his wife recently had their first baby upped their Buick Encore to a Buick Enclave because they have a baby now.. I think they plan a second but his justification was nothing more than they want something larger, when you looked past the BS reasonings. I get it. In the end, people buy what they want regardless.
  17. It's not much different than actively buying a 7-pass CUV- how often do people need those? Maybe -like some suggest RE F/S trucks- they can just rent a 7-pass for those infrequent occasions they need one (have a large buying spree at Home Depot). Most people buy in bulk. Costco... homes... It's The Way Of Things.
  18. Thanks blu- I spent an hour the other night watching utube episodes. Funny stuff. - - - - - '41 DeSoto Business Coupe - love the lines ~
  19. check it what do ya think? https://carbuzz.com/news/2020-cadillac-ct5-looks-stunning-in-all-colors All I still see is
  20. Not to beat a dead horse, but rain-sensing wipers on a Yaris, yet never a LaCrosse... Anyway, not a fan of the Yaris or hatches in general, but this looks nice and nicely equipped.
  21. I wonder why Mazda doesn't just sell this on their own in the US. They sell it as the Mazda 2 in other countries. They have a pretty good rep here. Maybe its just easier to let Toyota do the marketing.
  22. Ford won't be out until Thursday. Just waiting for the others to trickle out.
  23. If a Tesla semi ever shows up, it'll cost $500,000. And be useless in sub-freezing temps.
  24. Interesting is that Tesla has the highest resale value of any luxury auto in Germany. https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-s-highest-resale-value-germany/ The list of highest resale value of luxury auto's is as follows: Tesla - Model S Porsche - Panamera Audi - A8 Mercedes - S-class Luxus - LS BMW - 7 series Jaguar - XJ Makes one rethink the marketing tag of "The best or nothing at all!" Tesla is going to go against the big 3 truck makers and will have to deliver bigger than any of their current auto's for them to sway the loyal masses. This is going to be interesting to watch!
