  1. That photoshopped front end WILL NOT be part of the new Escalade for one reason: it does not fit the Escalade brand. It is one thing for the XT4/XT5/XT6 to have a face like that. But an Escalade deserves a face that matches its presence.
  2. Your next GC is going to be on the Giorgio platform.
  3. $44k gets you a GC Trailhawk and that has a lot more off-road capability than an Acadia AT4.
  4. It would be very difficult not to buy a Grand Cherokee at this price/size range.
  5. Not to mention; no one is drag racing CUVs so 0-60 times are meaningless.
  6. It looks like what a modern Dodge Colt Vista might look like.
  7. If you need 3-row seating, then there is the Durango. And Jeep is coming with a 3-row for the 2021 model year.
  8. And a couple grand more you get V8 noises.
  9. Interesting piece in the NJ Star Ledger : Parkway picnic spot a relic of a past era Want to have a picnic on the Garden State Parkway? Only one spot is left to do so. That wasn't the case 60-plus years ago, when the NJ Highway Authority built 10 picnic areas for travelers to pull off the highway, take a break, eat lunch, or even -by 1970- cook burgers or hot dogs on electric grilles. The area offered picnic tables under groves of trees, running water and restrooms in some locations. I can't held but think of the parallel; electric cars are forcing a bygone practice; sitting for an hour roadside while your vehicle charges and you (unwillingly) spend your time idle.
  10. It still has less torque than a Lincoln and at higher RPM. Pathetic Mercedes. The GLB hasn't been tested by a 3rd party yet. I think it is safe to assume that we don't know what it is and isn't quicker than yet. If it happens to be quicker than a 2.3 Mustang and V6 Camaro, it should as it's nearly twice the price. FWIW, the V6 Camaro has actually tested at 0-60 in 5.1 seconds.
  11. Fine, but make them fee-free; only there to record events. NJ had scores of red light cameras, they were only revenue-generators and since, they've (miraculously) been removed after major backlash. There was also evidence they were causing accidents as people slammed on their brakes at the last second.
  12. I still see so many Teslas snugged up to superchargers in the AM; seems they don't care much to pay for electricity, even tho they have no issue dumping $100K on the vehicle itself. Weirdness.
  13. An interior shot of the next generation Jeep Grand Cherokee has leaked out via a user on Instagram and by the looks of it, its going much more upscale. The interior looks wide and sleek with the center stack flowing into the center console. The standard dash cluster gets a new 7-inch screen or an optional 10.5-inch cluster will be available. For the center stack, 7-inch, 8.4-inch, and 10.1-inch Uconnect screens will be available, much like in the latest RAM trucks. There will be a new heads up display and the gear selector goes from being a shift lever to a rotary dial found in other FCA vehicles. The chassis code for this generation Grand Cherokee is WL and is expected to be on the Giorgio platform that underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio. It is likely that there will be a 3-row version of the Grand Cherokee, but it may go by a new name. The biggest engine news is there is likely to be a turbo-charged inline 6-cylinder of about 3 liters in size. The Pentastar V6 could carry over, while a turbocharge 2.0-liter 4-cylinder joins at the bottom of the range. Also expect the Hemi V8 and the newest version of the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel to reappear. The next Grand Cherokee is expected as a 2021 model and will likely debut next June at the Detroit Auto Show.

  15. Just “NO” to this photoshop fail. The front and back should be burned with napalm.
  16. Airlines I refuse to fly on due to horror experiences in the last 5 years: United, American, Spirit, Frontier and Southwest. Mostly due to rude service, poor cleaning and nickle and diming you to death. Alaska is my preferred airline right now, then Delta for Domestic. International, you cannot beat Korean, Asiana, Cathay Pacific, Singapore, Qantas, Nippon, KLM and Lufthansa. Never have had a bad flight with any of them.
  17. I used to fly Frontier a lot when I lived in Denver, but that’s been over a decade. They seemed comparable to Southwest. I’ve heard a lot of bad about Spirit. Here in Cleveland I’ll probably use Delta or American. Used Southwest a lot when I lived in Phoenix, still would use them.
  18. Maybe automakers need their own strategy against Chinese favoritism and mercantilism. Few others really have such a strategy.
  19. Lexus version nose is pretty ugly. Toyoter’s is patently ridiculous, and I should hate it on general principals... but I may actually like it some. Lexus: 3. Toyoter: 6.
  20. Yeah- the vids Ive seen of them look pretty cool. Course; if I tow twice a year its a lot.
  21. There are two more seats behind the center seated driver. Robert you can actually see the fold up seat behind the drivers seat.
  22. I definitely wouldn't buy one in the first 2-3 years of production. I'd rather get another WK2.
  23. I don't parallel park or back into spaces, but I find the camera quite useful in backing out of my driveway (I've spotted random joggers in the dark on the sidewalk w/ the camera, etc), backing out of parking spaces (esp. when I have bigger vehicles on each side of me).... with the small rear and side windows and thick pillars I have plenty of blind spots.
  24. GM is to be perpetually viewed as akin to Big Gov’t; huge volume, never to reduce payroll or facilities or contracts or anything. They must be there forever, doing mass production of cheaply priced products, no matter how the industry is doing.
  25. Reminds me a bit of the CT6 and other recent designs.
  26. I realize that’s a grainy looking pic but am I the only one that sees a bit of a Cadillac in it? Maybe not. Just a thought shot to gauge anything reasonable from it. The basic elements do look more upscale though.
  27. I would never consider the Acadia or other GM CUVs because of the lowly FWD/transverse engine platform. If they made a 2 row SUV on a proper platform I'd consider one.
  28. Yeah, you can get a AWD R/T for 46k. Yes, please.
  29. This thing is just a CUV, though, not an SUV...it's on a transverse FWD platform..just another generic CUV, not unlike the Acadia and others from GM..lease appliances...
  30. This is probably the only configuration I would buy of the Acadia. Buying a denali and having to pay extra to get the V6, especially after a $7k markup just rubs me the wrong way. But $43k buys a nice Grand Cherokee and I'd rather have that over the GMC.
  31. I cannot agree more.
  32. Jalopnik isn't a credible source.
  33. Gak...that much CF is nausea-inducing.
  34. @Robert Hall Here is a new hate for you, Nissan in making the new 2020 GT-R Nismo with a sale price of $212,000 is because every piece on the auto that can be has been replaced with a Carbon fiber part. https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/29281/heres-why-nissan-thinks-it-can-charge-212000-for-the-2020-nissan-gt-r-nismo
  35. I honestly would rather have them quote 45 to 60 time as a more meaningful time representing passing, getting up to freeway speed from the on ramp. I am sure there are far better ways we could think up quickness to represent real world driving than the 0 to 60 time.
  36. Exactly. Only journos and brand obsessives care about such nonsense.
  37. I'd rather this but with anything that actually makes it even remotely more off-roady. AT tires can probably be fitted to a Denali.
  38. Bingo..it has nothing to do with Baby Boomers, been around long before that. I like a tasteful use of chrome trim, instead of the current faddish black out treatments....too many white SUVs w/ black wheels and trim--when will that fad end? Likewise with carbon fiber visible on anything but a race car...carbon fiber is hideous looking, IMO. Along with the stupid matte finish wraps...another dumb fad of this era. I associate the black out and matte finish looks with Millennials, but i realize the appeal of it spans generations. I do like actual monochromatic (everything body color) trim treatments of the late 80s and 90s, but only in that context--wouldn't look good today, IMO. Just like fins and wide whitewalls--only appropriate in the late 50s-early 60s. Context-specific usage. Keep in mind 78 and 76 aren't Baby Boomers--they are of the generation before that. (Baby Boomers are 1946-1964).
  39. Would you rather have an Acadia Denali?
  40. Non-sequitor. There is no point in comparing a compact CUV with a Camaro or Mustang. Different niche, different buyers.
  41. Blacked out things + AT tires.. one hell of a way to take money from people.
  42. The only one I see would be a next generation Yaris built by Suzuki instead of Mazda.
  43. Soooooo, Seems the news is abuzz tonight of a 850HP Hybrid Corvette. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/mid-engine-c8-corvette-hybrid-z06-zr1-leak/ This all from some so called leaked documents posted into the Corvette Forum. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c8-general-discussion/4313915-z06-and-zr1-leak.html If true, some ICE Fans are not gonna be happy. ?
  44. gah, I hate those sites that make you click next for every vehicle. They're nothing but spammy spam ad sites.
  45. Maybe the next 'Slade will look like a scaled up XT6. And the Tahoe will look like a scaled up Blazer (or they will uglify it with a Silverado-like nose).
  46. The giant grille on the Avalon might look better if chromed and bejeweled with a bunch of shiny thingys like were in a '59 Buick grille.
