  1. Didn't look at the 3, but the 4 certainly has one: RE: Cloud storage--great in theory, until you remember that an internet outage, server glitch, or hacker attack can render you without your music. You also give up ownership rights to the Cloud operator, in many cases. No thanks. I buy the music, I want the content, and I want to still have access to the content even in the event of a technological failure. Plus, with all the drama about the NSA having backdoor access to Cloud services, I really don't want the government knowing I actually paid for Heidi Montag's debut album...whoops, cat's out of the bag on that one now! Interesting as I did not look at the M4, figured what they did to the M3 4 door would be the same for the 2 door M4 coupe. Interesting that they have different seats with the fold down arm rest. I still believe that CD players will be gone in 2 years or so, I have not seen a single new car model that has a cassette deck. Those have been gone for a long time as far as I have seen. The ATS has Multiple USB ports especially in the center arm rest console that allows charging but also ease of plugging in your USB thumb drive and loading music onto the built in 40GB storage of the NAV/Stereo unit. This is far easier and more reliable than a CD player. Yes it requires you to prep by stripping your music off the CD and onto the thumb drive, but you will get better reliable playback. I understand the points you are making, but I also feel you are wanting to keep things status quo in a business that is clearly moving forward fast. I do see how a center fold down arm rest with pass through to the trunk would add versatility to the car. Then all I drive due to my Shrek size is full size SUV's. So space is never lacking when it comes to carry something.
  2. Interesting as not much to see in the Heavy Cladding, but it is interesting to see that dual tipped single muffler exhaust. Big Car for sure.
  3. Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep is off the table for this 6'6" tall man if it has a sun roof. Amazing that they lower the roof line by almost 3" so for me I can actually drive in comfort my son's Jeep Patriot as he does not have the sun roof. Yet when he tested it with a sun roof I could not drive it due to the lack of head room. Lucky me he does not care for sun roofs so he saved the money from the sun roof and got a trail rated version instead and it has been a great auto for him.
  4. So besides having bulbs that can be replacements for old style bulbs that use more power. Will it also have new replacement tail light and Front head light assemblies? What about other marker lights or Cyclops Break light replacements? Example is my 94 GMC Suburban Cyclop lights has had the outer coating worn off due to age and elements. I want to replace it with a nice new bright one. LED would be perfect. Also those side to side blinker lights that go on the bumper or just under the tail gate of a full size truck. Just interested in what all will be in the catalog. Thanks for giving us a heads up.
  5. ENCORE I would totally agree with this statement. I also in thinking about it agree with Balthazar that Cadillac does not need to go below the ATS segment. Leave it for Buick.
  6. Are you sure it will take that long as I went through the GM web sites for the 4 brands and did not see a 6 disk option. Now I did not check every auto / SUV / Truck line but the few I checked on each brand I never once found a 6 disk player. Found DVD and CD player which would imply a single drive option. I bet in the next 24 months Auto companies drop multi-CD players from the options list.
  7. Exciting to see what you have to offer. Love LED options.
  8. Yes, Yes and Yes. I know I have terrible drawing skills but would love to see some of the talent I know is on this site draw some variations of an ATS. ATS Sedan ATS Wagon ATS Coupe ATS Convertible ATS CUV ATS Ute Let the drawing begin.
  9. So based on Cubical's comment, Cadillac should have called the ATS, the BTS. So a class 1 segment car if Cadillac builds one has the current lineup as such BTS formerly ATS DTS formerly CTS FTS formerly XTS This would then have allowed for a full family of new auto's to be added to the mix. I personally would have loved to see names back. ATS - Calais CTS - DeVille XTS - Fleetwood ATS Coupe/Convertible - Allante` CTS Coupe/Convertible - Evoq XTS Coupe/Convertible - Eldorado SRX - Provoq Escalade - Escalade New Models Compact Luxury CUV (ULC concept) below the SRX - Urvoq
  10. The sports wagon or CTS V wagon had limited appeal. Yet if they do a roomy wagon right it will sell to lots of people who do not like the CUV craze. I can also see the convertible being a needed option also.
  11. So here is a shot of the 2015 BMW M3 back seat. Where are those fold down arm rests that you say all German Brands have? In regards to 6 disk players, as Drew stated they are a dying technology. I have them, but rarely use them any longer since I like most people have stripped the music onto more efficient digital players. Trust me, CD players are not going to have the renaissance that record players are having. Most people are more than happy with a single CD player and the head unit having storage so they can strip and move their music to that internal storage or play it via the USB or Bluetooth ports. As auto's go Internet accessible, then we will see people use the Cloud to access their music, videos and pretty much anything else.
  12. Happy B-Day, Have a great one.
  13. Another American Company gone. Interesting to see if Fiat moves the HQ here to get out of the Socialist Italy.
  14. wow I just am amazed that people are really like that.
  15. Yup, my first auto stayed in my dads name and was on the family insurance till I moved out at 24. Then got my own insurance for a crazy expensive year and then saw the benefits of turning 25. Both my kids stayed on my insurance till 26 and now the nice thing is as a family they can still stay on but pay for their own and get my family discount, auto and home. Love Costco insurance. All the auto's are on the same policy as is the house and it really keeps the rates down. I think for Gen Y folks they should work with their parents to keep the auto's on one big policy and take advantage of insurance brakes for multi auto, home, etc. One bigger insurance plan that gives all breaks.
  16. I am excited, I hope they bring out a new performance model. GMC could use their own Syclone & Typhoon models again.
  17. Happy B-Day NOS Party like it's 1994.
  18. Let the Speculation Begin. I can see this as a compact luxury class model for the two companies with FWD/AWD options. A competitor for Infiniti to compete against Buick and MB to fight against Cadillac once they have an Encore class version of a CUV.
  19. Devils advocate, is higher grade materials enough to differentiate the Chevy from the GMC? That has always been a question with me. In this case I think it is, but others here will clearly say no it is not enough.
  20. That does make sense SAmadei, I know that after I put on my lift kit and bigger 36" diamater BF Goodrich All terrain tires, $1500 later the tires last but there is higher cost. Most Gen Y cannot afford that yet. Then again, if a Gen Y loves off road or the size, look and feel of a full size truck / SUV then you end up sacrificing something else to have that. I would have to say that many Gen Y young adults have been given pretty much everything due to the growth of the 90's and early 2000's and as such some have an entitlement attitude about what they should get rather than realize that hard work and learning to take care of a beater leads to nicer things down the road and an appreciation for both old and new auto's. I think that the subcompact and compact auto's plus the need for Mini Trucks that would allow Gen Y to own a inexpensive truck or car and customize it is needed in this market. I BELIEVE that a Marketing Case can be made to have a Mini Truck that sells for 12-15K dollars and many inner city people would buy them plus young adults just starting out. I BELIEVE that the auto industry has lost site of the need for inexpensive entry level auto's. This needs to start by making the gov realize that you do not need Nanny Electronics on everything, air bags on everything, backup cameras and sensors on everything. The cost of electronic everything is causing this gap of allowing Gen Y to have fixer uppers and entry level auto's. What is wrong with Manual Door Locks and Windows? Regular AM/FM radio with a USB port. I challenge everyone on this thread to put aside their personal feelings and lets DEFINE an Entry level auto that starts in the $10K to $15K dollar range with just basic equipment. Not one of the plain janes of the 70, 80 or 90's that had no radio manual everything including steering. But lets see if we can build a auto that would have the basic needs and meet the bare minimum of the gov regulations. Truck Features Manual Windows Manual Door locks AM/FM Radio with USB port Manual Transmission Front air bags only head rests 4 cylinder engine Monochrome paint job Car Features Manual Windows Manual Door locks AM/FM Radio with USB port Manual Transmission Front air bags only head rest 4 cylinder engine Monochrome paint job So would this do it or are there other considerations that must be made?
  21. Nice, Clean and plenty of potential.
  22. wow, did not realize that GM did not have a universal standard speaker connection. Guess I was lucky when I replaced all my speakers on my 94 GMC Suburban as I was able to pull out the existing worn out speakers and put in far better quality speakers I bought from Car Toys here in Lynnwood Washington and pretty much swap them out. My rear door speakers did require me to cut the panel and install the new speaker mounting kit with grill cover but still I just had to unplug the speakers and plug in the existing wire. Same with the speakers in the dash, there I went from the single cone speakers to a 3 way speaker in each corner and of course the sound quality is amazing. I searched also, but do not find any GM OEM speaker harness. But it just dawned on me that maybe the GM direct web sites as there are four companies that sell GM OEM parts. Try these and see if you find what you are looking for. http://www.gmpartsoutlet.net/ http://www.gmpartsnow.com/ http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ https://www.gmpartsonline.net/
  23. Thanks Dodgefan for fixing the link, did not realize it was broken. The video's are very cool. I think GM and pretty much every auto company should have a video like this showing how they make their quality auto's. This does help to sell the auto as a well built with pride auto that you would want to own.
  24. wow to think that just because this is the Cartier edition of the Lincoln Town Car with that amount of damage it would sell for that crazy price is amazing. Talk about a tarnish to a 40 yr selling company. This is NOT the type of car you want advertised for your dealership. Dump it on the used car lot auction.
  25. Just noticed that G2 will do any custom paint match of their caliper paint, so I could get a can of matching spray paint to pint the visable areas on the rotors so they look better on top of doing the calipers. Liking this more and more.
