Let's put some reality behind this, 1) I cannot prove to you that Religion if Fake 2) You cannot prove to me that Religion is Real 3) You can agree or not, but Religion when you study history for thousands of years has been used to manipulate and control populations. As far as anyone knows, much like Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) - IMDb where the movie starts off with the crew on a planet that is about to be destroyed by a volcano and the ignorant life forms are worshiping a book, much like a bible, they are saved by Spock and the Enterprise takes off and leaves, the local life forms that look like humans stop worshiping the bible and worship the Enterprise. For all we know, 3,000 years ago an intelligent life form came to this planet, and we were still groveling in the dirt and saw them as Gods, Jehovah, Yahweh, God, Allah, name it what you will but religion has been used to direct / control humanity. Religion does bring some good things to society for those that need the guidance of good versus evil, right versus wrong. Purpose, etc. Not all people can enlighten themselves through education and deductive reasoning to come to conclusions about various topics and as such need the guidance that organized religion brings. Sadly, there are those that are unhinged and tends to go off rails. I grew up in a very religious family and my parents planned for me to become an elder. Part of becoming an elder is deep, deep study of the history, bible, events, etc. and as such after 5 years, I came to my own conclusion that God does not exist to me, but there could be other life forms that are higher educated and more advanced than humanity and as such, for those that need religion, it is there good or bad, it is there for those that need something of this type of organization. Did my part today in filling out my voter's card for the elections next week and dropped them off along with my wife's ballot at the ballot box. We vote on who is the best candidate not the party for the role that is up for election. One of the biggest problems here in the U.S. is that both corrupt parties have moved in most states to ban the ability to state what party you really are or Independent which my wife and I are. You are forced to choose Red or Blue and that to me is a large problem of the political issues as I think there are far more independents than either party is willing to acknowledge. I really wish we could figure out how to get an Independent President candidate on all states ballots as it is time to smack both parties where it hurts and leave them with no majority, but a required must work with the Independents to achieve anything or look like the losers they are.

Since I can work from home, have not been in Seattle the last week and not planning to for the rest of the year. I have not seen any pictures of Seattle ICE Building on the news or posted online in social media, so I can only pull the Portland one that currently looks like this. Previously looked like this. Now they have added the fencing with barb wire. Local news is doing a good job of how terrible ICE has become here in the PNW. I have a neighbor here that has a 5-year-old Mercedes and it has rust spots and moss all over since she never washes it, I suspect the rust is from clogged drains since she leaves it outside year-round by pine trees. OK, let me see if I can help you clean it up. First do you have your original installation media for the laptop? If so what version of windows? Second, how did your MSFT Office get on the laptop? Do you have media or did it come preinstalled? If preinstalled, usually there was an option to make backup media so recover and restore a clean install. Third, go to Start button, settings, apps. Here you can uninstall applications that you do not use, this will not only free up HD space but also reduce background running processes to speed up the system. Look for things like Skype that is no longer a valid product but has a ton of processes that run in the background. All depends on how you take care of a laptop, you might not get security updates, but my Lenovo W520 with 32GB ram, 512GB SSD drive on Windows 10 has been solid since new, that is from 2011 and here it is 2025. 14 years. I see no reason to replace it at this time since it is working so solid. Yes, I am probably more attune to computers being an engineer and as such far more aware of what can go wrong if you accept or install stuff than most. Yet still no reason a solid laptop cannot last 10 years.

I understand what you are saying, yet so many people pay 300 to 500 for a laptop that has bare minimal hardware and then a couple years later they are having to look for another laptop. This is one that should last a good 10 years for people. My dad always told me that saving up to buy a quality product over the instant gratification of something new that can last a good long time is important and I have lived by that. It pays off in the long run. If you can find your installation media, always good to export bookmarks and data files you want to save onto a USB drive and then do a clean install. It is amazing how well the computer will run even after going through all the updates again if windows based. Other thing is save your data and bookmarks and install Rocky Linux or FreeBSD and learn a bit about the Linux side and have a lean running computer.
