  1. Here is where I saw it at: http://www.jayski.com/teams/chevy.htm

Chevy to replace Impala in 2013 with another Chevy brand: Chevrolet is developing a new car with a new name for its 2013 NASCAR entry, replacing the Impala used by Team Chevy, and plans to eventually market and sell the new model to consumers. The dealership and racing versions of the car will be unveiled this year, after the New York auto show in April, spokesman Monte Doran said. The new car will use a nameplate not currently in Chevy’s lineup. Neither the car nor its name will be a derivative of an existing one, such as the new Malibu or the upcoming redesigned Impala, Doran said. General Motors wouldn’t reveal details. “We are keeping the wraps on the new car for now and will continue to prepare for next season by testing camouflaged vehicles,” Jim Campbell, vice president of Chevrolet performance vehicles and motorsports, said in a statement. “We know that Chevrolet fans are eager to see the new race car, and we hope that the prospect of being able to own one just like it will make the wait a little more bearable.”

The new car may be a version of the Chevy Caprice currently imported from Australia for U.S. police forces. Inside GM, a plan to develop a Chevy performance sedan like the Caprice for consumers was on-and-off in recent years because of concerns that it wasn’t a high-profit vehicle, people familiar with the situation said. Australia’s Holden brand currently offers consumers a variation on the U.S. Caprice. Along with developing the new performance sedan, GM is redesigning the current Impala, which will be built at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant and is expected to hit showrooms by spring 2013. The automaker is also rolling out a redesigned Malibu.(Detroit Free Press, more at MotorTrend and a past post at AutoWeek)(3-13-2013)

I did read it somewhat wrong though. It just says after the auto show, not at the auto show...

  2. Love the back-up camera so you can see the look on the Prius driver's face as you accidentally imprint her hood, windshield and roof with all-terrain tire tracks.

Lol! That camera is nice to have. It's gonna work good for backing up to my trailer.

  3. Thanks guys! Mileage isn't bad so far for the 6.2 its Averaging 15.2 my 09 5.3 with AFM was getting 16.3. The AFM didn't work for me around here because of all the hills, it would kick in and out alot, and made the truck bog down and feel underpowered. The 6.2 6 spd Trans, and 3.73 Gears are perfect I love it! As for power and torque it's a BEAST!

  4. Just purchased a 2011 Silverado 6.2 with the NHT Max Trailering Package last Wednesday. The truck is perfect and smooth in every way. I had an 09 with the 5.3 & 4spd trans that I traded for this truck. I was having some trouble with it lately so I decided to trade up. I looked at other Brand's, but I couldn't find anything I liked as much as GM's Trucks. Here are some pictures:

  5. I like the overall look, and like the front except for the plastic fog light covers. I don't like the black antenna sticking up, and the tail lights look a little like a Kia, so I not sold on those. But overall the exterior is good. Interior looks good, finally GM has a class competitive to class leading interior. Although they better have plans for a touch screen navigation system, because young people will like that, and younger people are going to be buying this car. They need to offer something close to Sync.

Big props to making it 6-speed auto standard, 100% of GM products should have a 6-speed standard so this is a good step. Engine is weak though, 138 hp on the optional engine isn't anything to write home about.

Maybe in a car, but not in a pickup. I test drove a Sierra with a 6spd Tranny and it was a dog. The 4 spd ran alot better which is what I prefer.
