  1. Yikes, yes. If this keeps up, I might not get to work tomorrow either. After a neighbor used his snowblower earlier today to clear my driveway, it has drifted over and I've been plowed in to the tune of about 4 feet. And the wind....
  2. I saw that, excellent read, and it doesn't promise a rosy ending.
  3. circumcision *ouch*
  4. Maggie Thatcher
  5. The wind is blowing like crazy here right now and the snow is coming down so hard it's a whiteout. Wild. No thundersnow yet though.
  6. Hmmm... 80 mile range, not really suitable for delivery jobs if there is a long route. If it goes back to home base between deliveries, it could be cool. Light construction, I can see that, too, with an outlet at the jobsite for recharging. Let us know what Ford envisions as the electric version's purpose in the market.
  7. :/
  8. Any day you can pull out your chain and help a brotha out is a good day.
  9. political suicide
  10. A photo of your reflection in the massive chromium steel bumper of a 2011 2500HD, a closeup shot of the 2011 Ford Edge Sport's aluminum wheel, and several pictures of the hole in the wall from the Avalon's runaway will be sufficient.
  11. Ah, glad you made it to Chicago, Drew. Have fun, and we'll be waiting for your coverage! And Camino... yupper, same here, we always used to travel on snowy days... so fun, challenging and relaxing at the same time.
  12. I didn't like the way the quarter glass turned forward at the back edge. It should have turned back, imo, which would have evoked the first-gen quarter glass more successfully. Maybe a quick photoshop could help confirm or deny my theory.
  13. Traveling is one thing, flying and forgetting that even a 4X4 cannot stop in this weather is another. Just a leisurely jaunt around the local area is a great way to spend a snowy day like this. Of course, a CR-V might not help a man fully realize this goal. AVALANCHE, baybee! EDIT: OMG Drew, were you unable to fly out?
  14. I've been waiting for the word "Wawa" to appear in this thread. I'm sure the place will be populated with plenty of guys in 4X4s, with and without plows, getting their java jones satiated.
  15. My mom spent Saturday night in the hospital with heart fluttering after using her snowblower from the last storm and 2 feet of snow. Yesterday I had to take a few hours off from work to take her in for a stress test. On the way home, she wanted to stop for breakfast, and got the bright idear we should stop at Denny's. We both completely forgot about the promotion, and found the parking lot Slammed. So we went to Sheetz, a local convenience store chain, and got matching ham, egg and cheese bagel sammiches. Cheap, but fresh made, and reasonably tasty. Nothing like a big, homemade breakfast though. Eggs, bacon, toast, waffles, pancakes, snausages, scrapple, orange juice... YUM.
  16. It's an essential part of being a man, being able to travel in any weather... just because. I'd give anything to be able to enjoy my day off by going out driving in a 4X4 pickup truck, heading to the diner for breakfast, surveying the countryside... sigh. Be careful out there if you go, watch out for lunatics.
  17. Well we've heard from two BMW owners in this thread so far. I say, defer to them and stick to your original plan. Domestic cars are easier to live with over the long haul.
  18. Bleh, and I'm stir crazy because work is closed today and I have no 4X4 to go cruising around in. I can imagine what it's like for a guy who always got keyed up to go out and work in this weather... torture. Sorry to hear, Camino.
  19. I apologize for missing your birthday, uncle davey. You're a good guy. It was so nice when the birthdays used to appear at the bottom of the page. I checked every day and tried to post a thread when a regular poster had their day. I'll try to remember to go into the calendar from now on.
  20. As a kid I used to go to the grocery store with my grandmother (she never had her license, but always drove locally to wherever), and she used to embarrass me because she would talk randomly to strangers. She had no agenda, she was just a friendly old soul.
  21. Dodgefan, beans are good for your heart, ya know. Your sausage bites recipe sounds mighty good, too. I wonder if those little meaty, cheesy balls could be deep fried with any success? Although baking them sounds yum. Either way, I wouldn't mind popping them into my mouth.
  22. Yeah Mr. Jacket, I heard the bowtie headlight thing before. That Concept, especially the fleshed-out side sculpturing, really looks good. Shame about the tiny door-to-front wheel distance... belies its FWD compromised chassis.
  23. Steel Blue MKT with Ecoboost came in this week... sold order, and the only one we've sold so far. We've had a pearl white/saddle one and a silver/black one since they first came out, rotting on the lot. Salesguys say customers have not been impressed, and are upset Ford wants this to eventually replace the Navigator. I hope GM can execute a Lambda Escalade better, but I am not optimistic.
  24. So... fat chance reg will be celebrating Fat Tuesday?
  25. If you want to see the Avalon, better be quick about it. It will probably streak through the building at 110 mph, blowing brochures everywhere and spokesmodels' skirts up as it goes.
